  1. I agree his a big enough toss pot to not let the matter drop and will try to find something else to oppose yes. So thats why removing him from the bbc wont eliminate the damage he can cause, more damage limitation. Out of sight out of mind and all that.
  2. Well a hw99s is more than capable of doing that and more pal so with a scope and a new rifle you will be looking at £300ish. Lovely little rifle, lightweight and as accurate as a £500 springer in my opinion. The rest is your own personal choice of either break barrel or underlever and what fits you the best?
  3. It really all comes down to budget stavross really and whether your out hunting or targets or just a bit of plinking?
  4. I agree hes made NE look like fools for sure but hes as far from dangerous as you can get. His campaign worked for 5 minutes because of the detrimental flaws it has on the English countryside. THAT is the part im picking at. Thats not a clever or dangerous man. That is the work of an egotistical public creeparse that has f****d up again because as you stated earlier on. This is now working in our favour, so really we owe him a debt of gratitude for being so desperate to be seen and heard that hes gone in with his eyes closed and copped one on the chin?
  5. If these laws hadnt been re written, wouldnt he have looked like a real twat with the lapwings and wading birds eggs getting taken and the farmers pockets suffering. And lets face it, he is the face of stupid comments in the past like suggesting farmers and hunters killing lapwings was the cause of their demise. Thats why i have no time for him. He didnt think about the consequences of his actions while trying to be the nations saviour. A complete dick in my book.
  6. Depends what your looking for pal. £150 wont buy you a gem 2nd hand but stick £50 to it and you will pick up a new hw99. If you have a bit more to spend there are more options pal?
  7. Thats why he and his band of idiots are in need of sacking.
  8. His whole campaign has left him with egg on his face. He temporarily got pest control halted but his campaign was counter productive to his conservation ideas. That, in my book does make him a knob head. He didnt think hard enough he just dived in to be the great man that stopped hunting pest birds and now he looks like a twat. We are talking about an educated, knowledgeable man when it comes to species identification and habitat but when it comes down to common sense im afraid he is rather lacking and his contract with the bbc should be revoked like his stupid campaign.
  9. All 3 of them on the same day. All dickheads. They have all dropped huge bollocks that make them all look very stupid in the past and are not fit for their roles. Over here you are more likely to see a unicorn than a grouse because snowdoinia doesnt manage their predators so i guess they would rather see none than a well managed grouse moore.
  10. I can imagine this is going to go on for a very long time. There is no mention of wild songbird protection or ground nesting birds such as lapwings or native population of woodcock on there so that licence means that there will almost be periods during the year where there is no valid reason to shoot crows. If all other species covered are as vaguely covered then branchers day on rooks will be a thing of the past and maggies will be flying free after the last clutches of blackbirds have fledged late summer. I hope these new laws will be revised again.
  11. They will have been gifted to him by a pest controller, shot over freshly drilled peas on wednesday pal ??
  12. Already these poorly educated folk are trying to pick holes in the revised licences.
  13. I get what your saying tim about not posting things and ruining it for us all like i said last night, me included. I just dont see why it should have to be so tabboo. Its control and people need to come to terms with it. That being said these are the same people that love the grey squirrel and think that staffies are a dangerous breed of dog so need banning so i guess we are pi#*ing in the wind.
  14. I agree that putting up pictures of what we have humanely culled or controlled is giving the antis that dont approve, the fuel to try and prevent it happening. Im with VM and jon though on this point, why should we not be able to share our experiences and help give informative guidance to newbies and oldbies for that matter getting back into our sport. If i hijacked some thread on a local womens institute forum and showed the members who were talking about the best recipe for scones a photo of 2 dead woodies and a jay then i would be a complete knobhead but i do stand by the fact tha
  15. Thats an excuse if you ask me to the backlash they have recieved. Add to that, that most of us shoot magpies and crows for the reason of wild songbird conservation not for gamekeepers just proves they are back peddling now. Lets face it, Ornithology is packhams speciality, we cant take that away from him but as for the other fuckwits, they wouldnt know a curlew from a whimbrel or a chough from a bloody blackbird so in my opinion they should all go back to school and learn a bit before making themselves experts on things that my kids know a lot more about.
  16. Timmy, im not trying to start a whos right or wrong debate so please dont take this the wrong way because i agree with what your saying about keeping our hunting a bit more to ourselves, me included pal. I put up hunting posts, nothing too graphic but all in the name of pest control but yes it is fuel for the antis so i agree with you completely there pal 100%. My only gripe is that CP is a complete dick with a monsterous lack of knowledge of whats going on in the hunting world and why it is being undertaken. Yes he tarred us all with the same brush as the lad shooting in the woods but is
  17. Just spoken to basc and these revoked laws dont apply in wales apparently so all is good over here. There are going to be new temporary guidelines on NE website to cover individuals for avian pest control possibly later today and hopefully within a week there will be a new set of more indepth general licences covering the pest species. From what i could gather, fingers crossed, nothing much is going to change. Maybe more jargon to read through but thats just to tighten any loopholes that silly little arseholes can find to stop our pest control etc from living on.??
  18. Well i spoke to BASC this morning and i was told that the general licence offic was in meltdown with calls and i would be called back. Still no reply so i guess they are getting lots of shit today. I will try again tomorrow.
  19. The trouble is, its not just packham, its all the other no nowts that preach with no facts. Last year i spoke to a member of the golf club i shoot on and they stated that its wrong of me to be controlling rabbit numbers on there....what harm do they do were the exact words they used..... Nuff said?
  20. Ive just read an article on packham the dick from 2017 where he was suggesting that the decline in lapwings and wading birds was mainly due to the fact that people are still shooting them. It was suggested by the top man at the NFU that he was scratched from presenting on the tv and made to apologise.????? what a prat.
