We rent on a country estate, not the main house, just a little one. Its a shooting estate and I do some beating durning the season when work allows, so won't mind training him up the that, he would be great to flush them out from some of the dense cover.

Just bought these air rifles to refurbish. The one is covered in tape, and not in very good condition. It looks like it could do with a new stock, so I think I might have a go at making one. Its is a small air rifle, didnt see any marking on this one, but may be hidden but the tape. It also has a scope glued onto it. It wouldnt cock so we had to put it into a vice to get it to budge and then there was a pellet in the barrel, when firing this wouldnt come out, so was suggested that this one might need a new spring. The other one looks ok, just looks like it needs a really good clean.

Will it pass MOT?

I dont know how you have dont that for +20 years. I worked away from home for nearly 5 years and that was enough. Missed seen my boys grow up and only have weekends with them, I fely part time in the house, and was looking for something closer to home even at less money. I have been lucky enough to find something with the same salary, but was willing to take a less salary and less of a job at one stage just to get back home. Family more important that money.

I have got a springer at the moment, and am picking 2 more up Thursday (they are in need of restoring, not sure what they are though but only costing me £15) Think I should look at getting them a scope then, think it will make it more fun and I dont want them to loose interest.

I was wondering what peoples thoughts are. I have 2 sons, aged 10 and 12 and they are wanting to shoot with the air rifle we have. I was wondering, should they learn with a sight or not?

They have agreed not to have one because of the cost. They want something small, I have been looking at small dog options -

I also thought that was rather steep for a pup, thats why I was thinking of a cross They wanted to get a wiredhaired dachshund, but they are also around the £800 mark. -

Anybody on here had a Norfolk or Norwich Terrier? Seem to be nice little dogs, just not many around. A few crosses out there though -

They not sure what they want and if it was left to them we might end up with a Yorkie, as that has been mentioned and I said no way. -
I have had approval from the wife (boss) for another dog, but it has come with conditions from the rest of the family (thats the 3 boys) They all want a small dog, we have a springer at the moment. I have been looking at a few options and would like to now if anyone on here has had any experience with some crosses. If it was my choice I would go with a cocker spaniel, but that wont get the approval, so was wondering if anyone has experience with a cocker cross terrier or a beagle cross terrier? I did suggest a borber terrier, but the was not met with much excitement, so at the moment I

At least we know our money is put to good use.

Had approval from the family to get another dog, but the family wants a small dog. I would prefer to get a gundog/retriever, but dont think they come small enough. The other option is a cross with a terrier. Has one got any experience with x with terriers on here
-
Does anyone use Teckel x on here. My family has approved our next dog as long as it is a small dog, so I was looking at the wirehaired teckel / daschunt but they are so expensive so was considering a cross.

Looking to get my 10 year old son a new camera. The last point and shott one he had has got dust into the lense so won't switch on anymore. It keeps coming up with a error. He loves his outdoor photography and dont want him to loose that passion as he was very upset when his last one broken. Any recommendations on a decent camera around the £100 mark. Should he look at 2nd hand, as he would like something a little more technical than a point and shoot.

Yes I agree, but people have very good opions on there, do they know what it wa like to live in SA, did they used to hear about how people were treated during the apartheid years. It is very easy to form opinions with one side of the story. How many South Africans are not upset about his death?
