Shaaark, mate thankyou for the advice. What you've said is spot on and I'd never thought of it like that. A good friend said something similar about working him too soon. He said although physically he looks the part, mentally he's still immature/young and i could easily ruin him by starting too early, thats why I won't work him till next season. ?

Just wandering how much my bull x will change physically. Hes just turned 12 month so wandering how much he will change physically again. Height/weight wise etc. He's about 28TTS & around 35kgs. Cheers

Pup will be 7.5 month on the weekend. Hes 27 tts and 30kg. Is there much more left in him height and weight wise?

If sire is 5/8 3/8 bull gray and dam 1/2 cross bull grey what would the pups % be? Thanks

Lost the dog yesterday whilst walking in the woods. Found him an hour and a half later hanging by his back leg from a fence covered in blood but still alive. Looks like he had tried to jump over the fence (which he has never done before) but failed and got his leg twisted in the 2 strands of barbed wire that run across the top of the fence. Do dogs remember bad experiences like this resulting in then never attempting to do it again?

Just a quick update . Managed to get out tonight(tried Friday and last night but fog was terrible) and went well. Dog only had two runs but on both caught his quarry with a couple of good chases. So things are on the up :-)

No dog is given at least an hour a day free running a day be it down the beach, in the woods or in open fields as they are all no more than 15 mins drive from mine and then he has the run of the garden for the rest of the day. Strange thing is on one permission we sometimes (prob once a week) come across some deer and he goes wild for these

I can confirm the guilty party was a whippet!! Gonna try and get him out 2 this week weather permitting to give him some easy runs and make me feel better of course:-)

Was offered the opportunity to have a few hours out with a local hunter on his permission tonight and jumped at the offer. It was the first night out on the lamp for the dog in some 4 maybe 5 months and it couldn't have been any worse. He ran half heartedly on each of the 5 runs he had and on 2 he was shoulder to shoulder with the rabbit and didn't attempt to strike. He also trotted passed 2 sitters and didn't even know they were there!! Felt like a right tool and was glad the moon made an appearance so we had an excuse to go home. Don't think I'll be getting another invite off him in a hurry:

Well had one last shot at it this morning as in the end last night the dog wouldn't open his mouth. Anyway had a big pair of plastic tweezers and managed to get hold of the object and it came out first time. Still looks like the quail of a feather and it had actually pearced the roof of the mouth bit all good now. Thanks for all your replies
