  1. My favourite toy! Remington 700 vssf in .22-250
  2. I’ve been looking at getting a new caller. I like the look of the fox pro inferno, just wondering if anyone has one, if so what do you think of it? Sound quality, easy to us etc... also is it easy to upload additional calls? Thanks Jarvis
  3. Cheers, I was out with the thermal showing it to the chap who owns the shoot I keeper for the other night and on a five acre field we counted 70 rabbits! So that will defo be a long night getting to grips with them, my .22 will have a warm barrel!
  4. Out again last night with a mate on one of his permissions. Got on the back of the truck, had the vixen call going, 10 minutes in saw a fox but want interested in the call so not to educate it let it go on it’s way, another 20 mins passed and a fox came trotting up towards us stopped at 208 yards, my mate dropped it on the spot. Kept the caller going for a further 10 mins but nothing else came so moved onto another spot only 10 mins away, got the caller on vixen again, this time it was my turn to shoot his turn to spot, literally within 2 minutes a fox was running towards us but the wrong side
  5. The new setup draws it first blood on its first outing! Got to the shoot only to see the intended fox had turned up early so missed the chance on that one so thought I’d wait it out and see if another showed it’s face. Waiting for about 45 mins not one but two showed up, one turned away from me and trotted down hill leaving its mate behind which, unlucky for her came up hill following the tramline towards me. Stood on the back of the truck I watched it getting closer and closer through the thermal, as it sat to have a good scratch I switched to the drone mounted on my .22-250 and zeroed
  6. Hi mate not a bad little caller, the only down side really is you have to have it with you whereas with the icotec or flextone you can have it 50 yards away from you in a field using the remote and Charlie is drawn toward the caller and not you reducing the chance of you being seen/ herd/ smelt...
  7. Thanks for the response. Weight is not a concern for me as I’ll be shooting from a high seat or a vehicle so I’d rather have more distance and weight than less distance and less weight.
  8. Hi folks, Been looking at these torches (as IR pill) to go on a drone pro, just wondered if anyone has had any experience with them and what sort of ranges are you getting with them? https://torchfactory.com/evo-75-torch Cheers Jarvis

  10. Just a quick post to say thanks to Ian B at Blackwood Outdoors. I've ordered a XQ50F and the service has been fantastic! I was given some great advice and not just on the product I was buying from him but also other items I'm looking to get. A really great service, I definitely would not hesitate to recommend.

  12. Thanks chaps, think I’ll keep to what I’ve always done and make my own. Just wanted a nice easy portable one but I’ll make one I can move round on the kubota rather than carry.
  13. Thanks chaps I've actually found some better looking free standing portable ones on the bushwear website
  14. Has anyone had any experience with these free standing fold up high seats? If so what have you made of them? Cheers
  15. I think dogging in is a great way to prepare a dog for the beating line. It’s worked with my cocker anyway. Getting it to work close to you in and out if hedges/ cover etc without other dogs and people to distract a young dog. As long as you get it good on the stop whistle and recall as the amount of people I see and hear when beating go “oh yer he/she’s great at picking up as well” then as soon as you get towards the end of a drive and that dog sees birds dropping they are off! And that person is left red faced!
  16. Worth a try then mate I'll put up a post once I've done some and the ingredients.
  17. Hi folks, I'm looking at making some pheasant burgers over the weekend and wondered if anyone could offer me any good recipe ideas... Thanks
  18. Thanks very much for the offer Rob! Much appreciated, but I think I’ve got a home for them now ?
  19. I’ve herd young guns say, “oh no I don’t want a brace I wouldn’t know what to do with them” made me very angry! Saying that though that was only the opinion of 1 gun out of 9
  20. I’ve seen they sell well at Melton but we afoot every other Tuesday and Tuesdays is when Melton’s fur and feather bit is on isn’t it? After the beater/ guns have what they want we are left with 120-150 so I may get myself a second hand drinks chiller put some racks in it and then in my own time breast some and pluck/ skin others and try sell them to butchers or privately to people.
  21. Not sure what it’s like for the rest of the country but having trouble in Northamptonshire finding a place who’ll take our birds, couple of chaps who run other shoots I know are having the same problem, the game dealer we used to use has packed up! If anyone in Northamptonshire Area has a market for them please let me know! I’m not being part of a shoot that chucks away birds! You have to question what and why your doing it if it comes to that...
  22. Nearly sat still for long enough for two photos haha!
  23. Cheers mate, yer she’s coming on really well!
