  1. was out the weekend as im in a hurry to clear a few hedge rows up before the farmer replants the field with wheat. as we turn up the jeep was chewing its way through the snow drifts on my permission, after a quarter mile we just came to a halt, due to the snow mounting up in front the car. me and my mate ash jumped out, got the ferrets, kit bag and 12guage shotgun. the holes were apparent as all the mud from inside showed up great, the wind was relentless, sand blasting us with snow. first warren netted 2 shot 3 second- nowt onto the hedges. We just found one end popped the ferrets in
  2. let me guess u were on the road side? the far bank's the one.
  3. I aspire to be like glen n Mitchell guiste yeehaa!
  4. Its class like. Yukon men's much better, that youstice or how ever you spell it in that mountain men wants shot the Muppet, I'd love to go snaring grey wolves n stuff :-)
  5. The only boat used to be in john back garden for fishing off of. He doesn't live there any more?
  6. Ever tried auchenreoch loch? U can't even finish a cuppa without getting a run.
  7. I find 30lb carboflex is best, doesn't kink, or fray...I find limp wire can tangle round the lead on the cast then kink n its buggered. Carboflex is excellent for the fishing I do.
  8. Yup its my local, its reasonable at best for pike nowadays, pleanty fish there but you need to be sneaky an find a spot that doesn't get hammered, every one hits the sewer bank side so can be hard going. Get on the bowling green side there's one or two laybys, use a marker and feel about for features on the bottom. A bait boat helps too. My biggest fish from there are a 17lb pike 9lb bream 2lb perch n my fave a eel I can only guess was touching doubles but came off boohoo
  9. Nice ferox, happens now n again at loch ken. Fat bugger innit?
  10. Depends on the water, wether its been hammered or not. On pressured waters I find more exotic baits like blueys, lamprey, smelt, have the edge. On one water in particular good old Mackay out fishes just about every bait going. I do a lot of sea, coarse and game fishing so if been known to use dead baits such as Pollock, whiting, horse mackerel, trout, grayling, even flounders ha! You name it if used it as pike baits and just about everything works especially 1lb half fish jacks for the big mammas! I seem to remember I got nowt on the flatty, tough as old boots he he :-)
  11. Firstly brilliant post but one problem? I don't know about in england but transporting live american signals or ( austeopotemobius pallipes) sorry bout spelling! Is actually highly illegal and u could land your self in her Majesty's prison for a little stretch.
  12. I'll be out once or twice more until the 25th when the spring salmon start running,il still be mooching about with the old TX until the water warms up a bit then hit the bream at the castle loch. Might even get the old boat back on loch ken too. :-) busy times
  13. I'm after a new couple of hills in Dumfries Lockerbie area if any one can help? The smaller the better for me. :-)
