EVENING ALL, i have lots of ferreting to be done and need a bit of help, the lad that normal comes out with me is unfortunately unwell at present so if you fancy some ferreting feel free to in touch , your own ferrets and some gear would be a bonus , i have plenty of gear if not and 3 younger jills that are coming on quite well . dogs are welcome as long as ferret broken . tom
  2. one things for sure , the fast paced action of ratting turns full grown men into exited boys again!
  3. was decoying saturday , they seem to be feeding on rape and left over maize from the cover crops round us. set up on the corner of a topped maize cover and had 34, pigeon crop full of rape leaf with the odd bit of maize.
  4. wanted 2 ferrets preferably a hob and a gill, cant seem t find any in Gloucester any help greatly appreciated as i have so many rabbits to get on top of cheers

  13. hi , i am interested in all aspects of hunting / shooting / fishing and any thing to do with the countryside (im a farmer) i want to get a couple of ferrets in the hope of working them, being a complete novice i would be greatfull of any advice on keeping feeding and working ferrets and also best sex and breed of ferret to buy . many thanks in advance tom .

  15. cheers for the advice mate i brought the mk6s for squirrel tree traps but figured they would do for rats to, the rats are quite big they eat all the stuff for the cattle ie mollasses / wheat/ hyypro soya/raip meal mixed together . have found some mk4s for 7.50 each on ebay so will buy aa few now , thanks again

  17. thanks for your reply , forgot to say the council bait the farm , the chicken feeders are hanging from string in the coop the only place they can live is in the straw barn as im a bit ott on keeping the farm clean , i have a four acre paddock behind the sheds with a thick hedgebank , i reckon thats there hq . whats the difference with the mk4 ? thanks again
  18. calling all rat trappers im in need of some advise on the best rat trap to use around my chicken coop . at the moment i am opperating a couple of tunnel traps with fenn mk6 inside and a couple of norfolk trapper cages, i seem to be having limited success some 3 a night sometimes none at all , the rats make there way to and fro between my cattle sheds and chickens and have well established runs , i did spend a couple hours out with the 410hushpower about a week ago and had 18 but this hasnt made a difference , i have a rat attack smoker and a patterdale plus my mates terriers to and smoked th
