  1. Just to let everyone know, I took the advice given, ferreting, a couple of baggies etc. and the bitch has started picking up, she's no world beater, but is improving every time out. Although I had her retrieving toys and dummies she refused to bring back her catch to start, but after a fashion she has started to reluctanly retrieve too, and again is improving. Thanks for all the constructive advice, I think I may well get her to the average stage by the end of the season.

  2. Thanks Marko. We've held it a few times now, and so far have always been lucky with good turnouts of good dog folk, and always a good atmosphere.

The terrier judge is from the Midlands (and is a member of this site). He's an experienced terrierman with an eye for a worker.

Lurcher judge is comming down from Scotland. Again very experienced in lurchers and is looking forward to seeing some good working dogs.

The money raised is being donated to 2 people who have done alot for us dog folk over the years running shows, organising racing and simulated coursing not only for the people of South Wales, but all over the country. They were involved in a motorbike accident and we're hoping that any money raised will help them get back to some kind of normality. (If your reading this, get well soon Cath and Mike).

  4. Get used to it, son. You're out to be a Poacher of Legend now, aren't you? And what do you think the Farmers Boys and Gamekeepers will do when they catch you on their ground? Wag their fingers?

i no what you are getting at but f**k me its my dog i no its a working dog and all but i have put every thing i had into that dog. say if it dont make a full recovery thats all that time for f**k all :realmad:

Bide your time young man, what goes around comes around. A friend of mine had a good kicking off a doorman when he was a youngster, seen him about a year later walking on crutches, never one to look a gift horse in the mouth he took his revenge. He's not 17 anymore either so I don't think that doorman will be looking for a rematch LOL. PS hope the dog comes right for you.

  5. Mate of mine used to keep them. 2 of the dogs were reasonably decent dogs, but the bitches he bred were often rubbish. He eventually went to a well known russell man from Barnsley and got some real crackers. Read Chapmans book and read what he often considers to be a usefull dog might help you make your mind up. I have heard many people swear by them i'm just telling my limited knowledge of them.
