Probably been done before but I've been thinking about getting a collie greyhound but if I were to get one I would like a 3/4 grey. 1/4 collie just to give it abit more height and speed. Have any of you ran this cross before. If so any pictures and positives of this cross would be appreciated thanks.

Yes the lamp is still for sale and i will give the batterys in for free as i have give the charger to my mate ill take £40 for them.

How much to post it? It would cost too much for me to collect it, but I bet the batteries weigh a fair bit..
The batterys are heavy mate it would cost alot of post so i cant really do that.

Deben Tracer !70 Variable lamp now has a new switch and is fitted with a 100w bulb and has the cigarette plug cut off the end and a connector for lithium battery's has been put on it.
The battery's come in a belt pack with 2, 9Ah battery's connected to each other making an 18Ah battery pack.
Will take £50 if they're bought together.
Edit: The picture shows the lamp with no switch i have now bought a new switch for it and it is now fully working again like brand new.
Collection in Hartlepool only. Cheers

I'd use warmish salt water on that mate.

Ahh back to the faithful little rag hounds again........
But this time its not 'can they do fox' or 'will they take deer'....
Its 'dont get one because a collie/grey is cheaper'
......
To the op.... great little dogs for all that is legal.....
Haha that made me laugh im not saying dont get one theyre good dogs and all but for a first time dog owner would they do the job?
-
Do you not think a collie x could potentially be a nightmare to train as a 1st dog? I've no doubt they make great dogs but in experienced hands
ok try a well bred bull x or a saluki .........lol
collie x hound would be steady (biddable),..and have brains ,...so would be easy to train...........
Yeah that was why i recomended the collie x as it has brains so is easier to train

A whippet is a good little rabbiting dog and you are allowed to catch rabbits with them aslong as you have permission from the land owner with the permission your hunting on.
Also as for slipping 2 dogs on 1 rabbit that's just stupid. You should always single slip on a rabbit.
I'm guessing your obviously new to hunting so a whippet wouldn't be a bad choice for a first dog, however they can be costly. A good collie x grey would do the job just as good as a whippet in my opinion.
is lamping you just do or do you work your dogs during the day ?just with the comment you should only slip one dog
Lamping mainly mate to be honest when out day time i never work dogs on a lead so i suppose that was abit of a daft thing to say haha.

I'm guessing your not that long in the game either mate
Nope not that long mate. I'm not saying their anything wrong with a whippet my mate has one and it's like a bullet but to buy one they cost a bomb unless you're lucky. Whereas a lurcher you can get for next to nothing.
your choice of dog should not have an issue with funds .........you get what you need for a certain job ,......not because there cheaper .........lol
the dog will be hopefully spending a life time of loyalty to serve you ...........and if that dog picks up a serious injury ...........please dont decide its fate because of the funds ......you do whats right for the dog not for the pocket my friend.....
Good point i'd be willing to pay a lot of money for a good dog but it's not for me it's for the guy whos thread this is. If he's only starting out does he really want to be spending loads of money on a pup?
