  2. Tidy Buck, see he still has mostly Winter Pelage.

  5. The dreaded Sky, as its a National event thought the Terrestrial companies would have had a right to show it! I'm a fanatic on the Rugby but can't stretch to the fees Sky want!Anyway, think it'll be More like the Celtic Lions this time round!
  6. Well David has gone to the Scottish waters and that is the place for these giants of the deep!Nice to see something in the sea thriving rather than being decimated by over fishing!
  7. Well I can remember it being 20 pence a pint.Allbright the ale of the Valleys Mun!I used to get plastered and have chips on a tenner,no not ten quid ,a ten bob note!
  8. Well I see a Welshman has broken the Common Skate record off Oban Highlands.David Griffiths boated the 235 pound monster from 500ft of water. The 7ftx6ft fish was caught by the publisher from Sarn Powys after a 90 minute battle. As he refused to kill it and weigh it ashore it doesn't count but well done to him!
  9. Think your understating yourselves here lads. Scotland has a great deal of assets ,Oil,minerals, Scotch whiskey.fishing glorious countryside and scenery. You can't get a better country on your doorstep for country pursuits!I think the problem is that the very politicians who are promoting the independence don't understand their own assets?
  10. Hello CC ,no they were definitely not V-max I personally will not use polymer tip bullets on deer because of the rapid expansion. They were jacketed ,soft lead tip .I was reloading at the time with RE 22 I believe, which drives the bullets at extreme velocity and I think may have been a bit too fast for that particular bullet construction!
  11. Firstly let me say that I never think of entering such a young dog to field shooting, she's still a puppy to all intents and purposes! When you introduced her to gunfire, did you do so gradually with a starting pistol at range and gradually get closer if no adverse reaction is noted? You should only ever introduce her to gunfire very gradually at distance until you are certain she is not getting any adverse reaction to the shot.I used to use a .410 after I was happy that the dog was ok with the starting pistol and then at at least a 100yds away and watch for reactions.I think she may well have dev
  12. I used to set my .22lr for 50yds with a duplex reticule and found with standard ammo I was bang on at 100yds if I used the tip of the lower thick post as the aim rather than the center of the reticule. If you see what I'm saying?
  13. Sorry to be pedantic roe-buck but gecko are 105 grain, and to the op get prepared for a mentoring condition pal. I stand corrected Sir!
  14. Always used a 22-250 on Roe in Scotland obviously, stupidly you can't do that in England and Wales!
  15. Possibly ,but it wasn't quoted as such.If you've used them and you've had good results ,then thats the way to go!!
  16. As above, very good condition, odd mark or two no crimping, very clear scope.Screw on sunshade..Red /Green Illuminated reticule.Mildot and ranging reticule.£65 posted.Pics avaliable for genuine enquiries.
  17. I live the other side of the haven from Angle mate. Some good fishing to be had around the coast here but like you say, you have to know and respect some of them or it could cost your life.. St Brides bay is a decent and safe place for kayaking as is Dale bay but there are many places where you could get into serious trouble IMO.. Yes I know these, very picturesque qround there.I used to go in the boat with my Father in Law around Sheep Island and Thorn Island, lots of currents there, have to pick your tides. Also did St Govan's Head ,very good for Pollack and a Bass or two.
  18. He is very raw and gangly but he has a big heart and is entertaining!Don't think the Klitschko bros are too worried though!
  19. Obviously a very experienced guy,I wouldn't advise any novice to go out alone in the West Wales waters, beautiful but treacherous on all but the calmest of days!I used to fish around Angle Bay and Freshwater West etc,you have to be on your toes there I can tell you!Lots of practise on sheltered waters first methinks!Always tell the Coast guard when/where your going and have a Marine radio to do so,mobiles lose signal too easy!
  20. Good for you, plenty of tips and help on here. You'll enjoy it!
  21. Hmm seems like good compromise with the .243,although the Fallow Bucks in the Rut can get huge necks on them alot prefer the .308 for that.Gecko do a good 110gn round for .243, that should put anything down!
  22. I'll forgive you ,just this once!
