  1. If you listen to any of the obituaries it's obvious that only amazingly good people die; that's why I think I am probably immortal
  2. A bit over the limit from the night before could be a really bad error of judgement, but there is no way you could be three times the limit and not know that you must be.
  3. I don't need another rifle, but Friday morning I am driving through Essex down to Southampton, then to Epson on Saturday and back to Suffolk Sunday. If anyone is thinking of buying on the route and I could deliver....
  4. Well I guess that will all have to leave soon, once Brexit is finalised
  5. I bought the one below. it was £6.99, but has now gone up to £7.19. I never really had a need for one either, but it was sooooo cheap..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Red-Laser-Bore-Sighter-0-22-to-0-50-Caliber-Hunting-Boresighter-Rifle-Scope-UK/112528647702?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  6. But I bet they are glad they weren't called out to a fire at a tofu factory
  7. Six months is a long while to wait for a sausage
  8. You seem to have squirrels and foxes covered, send me your address and I'll get the crow, magpie and jay sorted out in the next week or so
  9. It's arrived and I guess it is about what I expected for less than a tenner. The laser pointer part is fine and can be seen out to about 25m outdoors today if shone on the right sort of surface. It says it is adjusted for concentricity in the factory and the allen screws shouldn't be touched but they provide an allen key (and a screwdriver). revolving mine in a lathe produced a 25cm circle at 15m, so not l centered at all well. Five minutes of adjustments and it is now just about perfect. The main body is stiff enough that it will give good results, but the tiny little bore arbors
  10. I haven't before, but one should be arriving tomorrow and I will let you know
  11. Is she sneaking out to the local ferret pub when you are not looking?
  12. Is that meant to be a full 21 gun salute for magpies? as I only normally use the one rifle
  13. The egg came first, Just before a chicken had evolved enough to be identified as a chicken, it would have been some other sort of bird that laid eggs. Therefore the first chicken hatched from an egg.
  14. What range do you want to shoot and have you an idea of what you would be comfortable paying?
  15. I have always used Eley, but tried the 42g Winchester last night for the first time and the couldn't see any difference in the grouping. I don't know if the POA changed, as I had just fitted a different scope, but I will test that later this week with my few remaining Eleys. The Eley have always cycle fine in my 10/22 provided it is clean, but the Winchester seemed to be cycling just a bit faster. That could be my imagination as I know they are heavier, but I will load one magazine with each alternating and listen again.......
  16. The more important question is can you apply the same gender equality to roe deer and shoot them in all year round ?????
  17. The marking system for synchronised swimming would have been more useful, I think a lot of people on this site already know the laws regarding shooting.....
  18. I don't have my dog anymore, but she swam every day even in the middle of winter. Her favourite was a storm with 2m waves which she was always convinced she could chew into submission
  19. Let me know when you can bring him to Felixtsowe for a swim and I will have some rabbits waiting for you
  20. Luke, which part of Suffolk? And would you like fresh rabbits to feed him? If you are happy to skin them yourself you can have as many as you want
  21. You can use low profile dovetail to Weaver adapters and a Weaver/Picatinny mount. Sportsmatch make both standard two piece and also one piece mounts that work perfectly. They don't have quick release leavers, but the locking nut is slotted so can be operated with a coin or the back of a knife blade. The dovetail adapters have two locking screws each and they don't need it, but you can use threadlock under them if you really want to. I am not trying to advertise so won't give you a price publicly, but I have all the options here so if you can't find them locally send me a messag
  22. I fitted and zeroed it in yesterday evening then had a quick look to see if anything was still about despite the sound of me zeroing. These five were all shot in the first five minutes with a .17 HMR. Fortunately I had chambered one round before fitting the four shot magazine, or one of them would have got away. Eleven more followed. Sadly I only have two more nights shooting before travelling for work, but if anyone wants to see the sight in action any time after the 31st of July, just let me know
