  1. Yeah I’ve seen other crosses than beddy cross whippet work, main reason I wouldn’t choose beddy whippet now is the quality of tested beddys ain’t about. Plenty of grafted bulls russells and pats about. Also I wouldn’t be using this type of cross in the same way as you would a big lurcher, they’d be used for ratting bushing ferreting etc, more of a fast buster that you could use as a dog that could do dual rolls if you like. I wouldn’t particularly class it as a lurcher as such
  2. Also it seems like there is becoming a shift in people’s attitudes to small terrier bred lurchers, the beddy whippet would be a few places down on my list if I wanted a whippet terrier cross. Russell pat or bull whippet from the right stuff would be my choice
  3. Exactly right mate, it’s not all about running in a field people breed lurchers to do dozens of different jobs on all types of quarry and terrain. That’s the beauty of breeding types
  4. What’s the black lurcher type? Nice looking animal that is ?
  5. For a beginner you can’t fault a whippet for a first type mad keen but easy to handle and no bother, I think same thing with them pups that Ken bred, they’d be an excellent type for a young keen hunter
  6. Nice to know as I run a bedding greyhound at the moment, he’s 8 and has been easy to handle no trouble at all, I’m hoping to go down the acd cross road myself in the near future
  7. Possibly more to the story?
  8. Looks like she’s maturing well mate, how would you compare her so far against the beddys? really looking forward to hearing how she does this season ?
  9. Brilliant mate what a great simple way to live ??
  10. Very brave girl fair play to her, could have gone very wrong for her very quickly though
  11. If the pups turn out well do you think you would do a repeat mating or something similar In the future Ken?
  12. Nice spot to get away from it all ??
  13. You got a cracking family of bushers about you now mate, going to have a lot of sport with them. Will pay you a visit at some point ??
  14. If it was to be a line I’d e starting with a few unrelated whippets and greyhounds and go from there, get stock out there grafting then put the best to the best and continue on like that. Not really worth it though as your going to get what’s needed from the first cross anyway. Half cross, 3/4 greyhound and 1/4 whippet and 3/4 whippet 1/4 greyhound would be all you would need to breed. Not a line just types, very handy types
  15. Man could talk a glass eye to sleep. Nice enough fella though
  16. Be interested to know more about the whippet blood your going to use, can you tell us a bit about that?
  17. You can’t stop and you know it Phil it’s part of who you are ??
  18. Would you ever have a cattle dog lurcher again Phil do you think?
  19. He had a big fawn coloured rough coated lurcher didn’t he?
  20. Whoever is lucky enough to get one of these is going to have a lot of fun, for the mouching rabbiting man I think they will be excellent. Cracking pups ?
  21. For bushing and mouching they’d be very handy I’d say ?
