I had a hen go broody a month ago she hatched 5 chicks this is her second hatch for me the last lot are fine and around 4 months old I went to check them yesterday and she had killed all 5 and went back to sitting on a empty nest box I've never had this before and it has sickened me to be honest any one else had this happen?

Didn't understand the first 2 parts of what you were saying Wilf but yes they are more equipped to do damage that's what they were origanaly bred for but they are no more dangerous than a lab and the last thing this f****d up country needs is more insurance and health and safety bollocks it was people thinking like this that stopped hunting -
Wilf to outsiders looking in we are very similar but for the most part we don't mix Irish and gypsies look down on us they don't think of us as travellers and to be fair showmen usellualy look down on them it's just life haha

Car type insurance for dogs nobody can control a bull breed what a load of bollocks people get bitten every day by all kinds of dogs and you don't hear a dicckie bird but because someone couldn't control there aggressive dangerous dog and a bullbreed killed it everyone is against the bull breeds complete bollocks! -

Theres to many useless little family pets that shouldn't be bred running free and yapping at any thing that moves I don't agree with idiots having bullbreeds if they can't control them but the silly little family pets need controlling to -
I'm a showmen and my family has strong ties to gypsys I've spent a lot of time with them and some of my family have married them I have cousins that are gypsys I get on really well with some but I have to say that percent are just trouble and I have yet to meet a Irish one that didnt just take libertys but they tend to look down on fairgrounds and showmen we don't really mix so that might influence how they react to me

Think it depends on how many dogs you have if you had 2or3 dogs I wouldn't get a bitch cause to much trouble in the kennel i think I prefer dogs no coming in season in the middle of the season

I had a bitch that yapped now and then when she was on long ears it was out of excitement she was a real good dog on anything without teeth put loads in the bag fur and feather if the dogs doing the job don't worry about it

Good read this Australian hunting has to be some of the best in the world keep it coming please are the dogs feral from all types or more a type now if they have been wild for so long?

Yeh I understand what your saying but the Americans took British breeds and altered them to what they needed teckels are just a import it seems a shame that people are using foreign dogs when so many old British breeds are being destroyed by the kc but if they are doing they're job and people are happy with them then good luck to them and it is good to see dogs that are capable of doing the job they were bred for British or foreign

I've heard they are good dogs but I just can't see why they are better than our native breeds if you've got a tool doing the job why get a different one from foreign places just my opinion I could be wrong

Not a bad idea but they are only chicks it be a long wait they ain't even what I wanna breed I just got some Spanish that's what I wanna breed but that hen sat the eggs so I left her but I'm willing to run 3 or 5 cocks on and see how they perform
