Anyone recommend these wellies or not ?
shovel leaner replied to the lamping ferreter's topic in Hunting Boots & Clothing
I’ve had loads of pairs . They are good but they aren’t the wellie they used to be . They were made in France and they used to last me a couple or three seasons, but now they are manufactured in bloody Madagascar, and now they only last about a season or so . But I live in them , they are easy to slip on and off . I’ve had Aigle and seeland and they were not as good. Toggi made some once and I had a pair and they were excellent . But I haven’t found any since and I think they have stopped making them . -
You shouldn’t leave because of that . Just be careful what you post . I always look out for your posts . I doubt it’s someone on here . But you can’t be too careful.

A ride on would be too much for this place . At my previous place we had an orchard to cut and I could have done with a ride on then . I had to make do with a Hater mower it was called a Hayterette and it would cut through anything. Plus they have the Royal seal , so if they’re good enough for Her Majesty!! This Mountfield I’ve just got is the business . I watched the video on the screfix website, and this Yorkshire salesman said “now this is the Farrari of lawnmowers “ and that was it !!

I know, and I’m not saying that if I was in my house and armed men came in to attack me and my family, and if by some chance I had my shotgun handy , I wouldn’t defend myself. But I don’t spend my time thinking about that and preparing for it . In my previous post I said that if there were armed men outside my house . My guns are for sporting and pest control and not self defence. It really would have to be a last resort , and not my first choice way of protecting myself.

If you have time to get to your gun safe ? Armed men broke into George Digweeds house , they had him and his mrs tied up in seconds . In reality if someone is going to enter your house armed , unless you have the gun in your hands you are going to be just like anybody else . You obviously see yourself as a Bruce Willis in Die hard .

I was selling a pickup truck a couple of years ago and I had a message telling me it was just what he was looking for , he wanted it and was willing to pay the full asking price , no questions asked . He was even going to pay me £200 more . I was as you can imagine feeling very pleased. I thought how lucky I was and that I wouldn’t have to put up with the usual “tyre kickers” . Too good to be true ? Cause it was , the email was from Nigeria , all I had to do was pay I think it was £150 via western union to his agents account, so he could organise the shipping and he would then forward the “mo

Artifical earth's - how to make them better
shovel leaner replied to Henryrussel5591's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I used to find regularly in just straight pipes in a hedge. It was on land that had no other cover . If there is nowhere else for them they will use them . Also leave a dead sheep or deer near it in winter . ATB -

I’d say it makes a difference, a 22 rimfire is a deadly weapon but it’s not a military assault rifle that can cause massive injuries and a huge amount of casualties very quickly. I’ve got shotguns and rifles . But I cannot imagine a situation where I would go to my gun cabinet to get a gun out to protect my family. In this country if you do that you know what will happen..... you will go to prison . This is not America , or Somalia or Syria . If there are armed men outside my house, I will call the police .

That’s the Brexit deal sorted

In America the NRA is a very powerful political lobbying organisation and America has the “right to bear arms “ ingrained into its culture. I don’t think that civilians have any need for or use for semi automatic or automatic weapons . That’s my opinion, and I do not see it as being decisive or not supporting fellow shooters . You only have to look at the amount of mass shootings in America compared to this country to see why I think this . I think the uk has got its gun control about right.

“The AK47 , the very best there is , for when you absolutely, positively have to kill every mother f@@king rabbit in the field .... accept no substitute!!!

I might be on my own here, and I have firearms. But I can’t see any good reason for civilians to own semi automatic weapons. As said in a previous post , bad guys will either already have or will be able to get their hands on them easily enough because there are probably so many already out there . Before the ban in the uk I knew guys who owned military semi autos and hand guns . They used to shoot at ranges and gun clubs . I went along once and what I noticed was the targets were silhouette/ human shape targets , and I thought it was all a bit .... weird. I’ve got rifles , but they are only f

That is exactly what myself and my wife said , why wouldn’t you answer any question they threw at you ? If your child is missing you would answer any question the police had in the hope it might help .

Good shooting. I always seem to remember historians and documentaries saying that the old muzzle loaders were inaccurate !! Not the case here , smooth bore too . Were you shooting off hand or with a support or rest ?

I can’t say from my experience, I haven’t got one of their rods , I spent some silly money on Orvis and Sage , and I think that is where you can’t skimp , you will really notice how with a decent rod you can lift off a whole line and cover a rising fish with no effort. You don’t need to spend money on reels because they really just hold your line , but spend as much as you can on the rod . Leeda aren’t bad , Diawa , Greys also not bad , but look out for Loomis , Orvis and Sage on eBay , you might get a bargain.

Fair play to her , do you know if she tackled any jumps ? It’s dangerous enough with a normal saddle, but I like to see traditional things like that , it shows the young generation have a bit of respect for our heritage.

Otherwise it’s cortland for me , they seem to cast and sit in the water nicely. But I’ve got a couple of Airflo lines and they are good .
-
Since the title was “best value “ not the best fly line , I would say the Airflo range takes some beating.

It will never die ... never !!! It’s in safe hands , I know a few good keen lads , you might meet some tomorrow ?

I can remember in the mid 80s going on holiday to Pontins Camber sands and people went out and left their kids in the chalets , they had members of staff patrolling and if a child was crying it came over the loudspeakers “ child crying in chalet number 18 “ . And nobody batted an eyelid!!

He’s a guy who has f@cked up “big time “ , and he is lying. Who hasn’t tried to get away with something? If it comes out , he should feel the full weight of the law , but would you put him in the same category as Ian Huntley ? I wouldn’t .
