Salting on sandstone patio

I dare say the reason they are going after the over 75s is because they will be a largely law abiding and easy target , because the younger generation is leaving on mass . If your mum and dad fall into this bracket, go around and tell them what they have to do to not pay the license fee . I haven’t renewed mine . I wrote a rambling letter to them explaining that I am now a tin foil hat wearing looney tune , who is waiting for the second coming of Christ and I believe my TV is possessed. Whatever your angle , just don’t pay . They are a government propaganda machine , run by perverts /paedos a

Winchester Ballistic Silvertip
shovel leaner replied to M0SAD's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
That bullet looks like it’s been through the wringer!! Looking at the case it looks like they have been scavenging empty cases up the range . And that’s a new bullet ? -
I think if they were topless , it might bring in a few more male viewers. Not being sexist or owt like .

CZ / Brno 511 semi auto mags
shovel leaner replied to shovel leaner's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
They are yours ? -
Any of you guys got one and need a couple of spare magazines? I have been having a sort out and found a couple of mags from my old 511 . I understand they are like the proverbial “rocking horse poo” these days . I don’t want anything for them , I would just like another forum user who genuinely has one to have them and not someone who will stick them on EBay ( I could do that ) . PM me if you are interested. Nice write up Walshie , spotting with a thermal and lighting them up is obviously working for you . I miss using a lamp . Everything I see now is in thermal image or a black and white digital image , it’s not the same .

Well , i tried Lulworth cove and had nothing so I went in to a tackle shop in Dorchester and asked where I should go . The Ferry bridge in Weymouth was mentioned. So I had two evenings with the tide coming in . I was right under the bridge , which I was told was the place to be ....... not a nock , not even a mackerel. I wasn’t on my own , no one was catching. Fish fingers for tea tonight.... thank goodness for captain Birdseye.

There you go . The French hate us and their Gallic pride has taken a massive kicking by the UK . Waterloo , and then us liberating them from those horrid Germans . The French , who largely collaborated and rolled over during their occupation and the Germans who started two world wars . Those graveyards are a constant reminder to them , and I hope “they” never forget , what “our “ lads did to make sure that Europe can have its own parliament, but I’m afraid that their memory’s are short and they should all be kissing our arses and thanking us for being an island of people who , with the Americ

Also have a look at Tikka and Wierauch, both make 17hmr rifles. Have you thought about a Sako quad ? you have a 22lr and 17hmr on your ticket. You could get a Sako quad , one gun two barrels, just undo a nut with an Allen key change the barrels , remember the clicks on your scope and you are back in business with a different caliber . Sako make arguably some of the best rifles you can get , so you will not want to upgrade in the future . I would suggest that you take your time and have a look at the different rifles out there before making a decision. Pick them up , look at them , try the acti

I was watching some of the coverage , and interviews with veterans, We owe those guys so much . Then the BBC couldn’t help but get all anti Brexit and got their little remain message in . They were interviewing this old girl , who was pro remain and quoted Macron who told Trump “America is only great when it works with its allies “. America was working with its allies “us” and after Brexit it could work with us even more . They were trying to say how we have been apart of Europe for so long and it’s all a great shame that we are leaving. The truth is we were fighting the genocidal Germans , th

Which caliber would you pick ?
shovel leaner replied to shovel leaner's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
The yanks kill boar with a 22lr . If you put the bullet in the right place a 243 will kill anything, there is no reason a 223 wouldn’t, it can kill a roe deer in Scotland but not in England, they must breed them soft up there .? -
Which caliber would you pick ?
shovel leaner replied to shovel leaner's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I think I agree with the 243 . And if you home load you have a wide choice of bullet weight to choose from , I also think that it can cope with all the species I shoot . -
I thought I’d start a new topic . Imagine a law has been passed , and as a gun owner you are only allowed to keep one rifle . However the law has been relaxed, so that it is up to you to decide if the round is capable of humanely despatching your chosen quarry . One rifle , to do everything ?

Well , yours truly is off on his last holiday before the birds come , off to sunny Dorset , or maybe not so sunny ? The good lady wanted to do some baking and so I was sent to see my mate at the free range poultry farm and get a couple of trays of eggs . No money changes hands for my fox control , he says “don’t go buying eggs , you can have as many as you want” , and I hold him to it . All my family and neighbors never buy eggs . But the tight git doesn’t give me grade A eggs they are the rejects , the odd shaped shells or gritty shells , but they taste the same I suppose. Anyway , I digress

I’m down in Dorset for the week, I’ve never fished from the shore in Dorset before, I fancy an early morning tide spinning for Bass . We are staying not far from Crossways . Where would be a good place to go nearby? Any advice much appreciated. ATB

It’s getting expensive ☹️
shovel leaner replied to Stavross's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
In my experience, paying guns , who aren’t members will have to be watched carefully. They will “fill their boots “ with little regard for future days . Unlike syndicate members who may think “ i will leave that bird , there is always tomorrow “ , for them there is no tomorrow and they will shoot you out of house and home and piss off syndicate members. Lay the law down before they pay and spell out the shoots ethos and how many they can shoot . Otherwise it is a good way of offsetting costs . ATB -
Thanks for the replies. All I needed to know . ?

If I could have soldiered on I would have . The X-ray showed that the smooth surface of my hip joint where there is also a type of fluid that lubricates the joint was gone and it was literally bone on bone . The pain was unbearable , I’d been suffering too long , “hang on !!!! I think I can hear violins playing “ . But seriously, my operation has been successful and I now don’t even think about pain anymore, I am just leading a normal life . Why take pills and be a martyr.... get it sorted, because these things just snowball.

How long can you use the media ? Do you use it once and get rid of it or do you use it more than that ? I’ve tumbled my brass once in new media and it is looking a bit dirty . Advice please. SL
