Pheasant egg and crows!

The idea of control is a funny one . I have a view that you are only controlling a species when you estimate the population and reduce it significantly by whatever target you give yourself. I try to reduce our Corvid population by as much as I can and I estimate that I probably reduce it by 50%_75%. The main way I do this is with ladder traps . I do this in January/ February when the birds are hungry and less cautious. I can kill good numbers doing this . Also some of the beaters like decoying them and take good numbers. I think every Corvid counts and certainly keep shooting them , but it’s a -
Pheasant egg and crows!

I don’t control grey squirrels to protect native reds , because there are none around here to protect . I control them because they do so much damage to our native Beech woods , and they damage feeders . I also control Corvids , the main reason is because , if there numbers go unchecked they strip the maize covers and eat the wheat that is supposed to be for pheasants. There is also a knock on benefit of this control for native and non native species in the breeding season . But I am being paid to do this control by people who want to shoot pheasants . I don’t know your circumstances mate , I was knocked back when I wanted to get another 22lr . I wanted to get a semi auto, but keep the bolt action as a truck gun and use the semi auto with a dedicated NV set up , which is what I’ve done with my 223,s I’ve got two of them , but they won’t let me have two rim fires . I haven’t pursued it as I’m not that bothered about it. , but it does seem daft .

Ever wondered how BBC cameramen can go to the Himalayas and find and film the most endangered cat , the snow leopard? And in one of the most remote and hostile environments on the planet . And yet all we get in this country is a few grainy images ? I’ve met Greyman and he is certain of what he has seen , and that is what drives him . I am with JD hunting and believe that we did have big cats , but they have been killed .

Kids that go to University or go on holiday to Ibiza or any other holiday destination are going to be exposed to drugs . I think that if you were a young person, living a normal life and someone said take a toke on this and you thought “ no that might influence my future political career “ , then not only haven’t you lived and therefore have no affinity with your future electorate , you are a boring sad Cnut . Having said that , there is a difference with experimenting and being a moral degenerate. You can look at Boris and see that he is a “silver spoon “ , public school boy . The left wing ,

Politics has changed so much . Years ago men went into politics for altruistic reasons , to give something back . They were retired military or business men with experience of life . Nowadays we have individuals who seek to have a career in politics, which I think is complete bollocks .The very idea that someone wants to be a politician should automatically exclude them from ever being one , because it’s a freak show . I think Boris is the best of a bad bunch , but the man who should have thrown his hat in is Reece- Mogg . I believe he is an intelligent man with a bit of moral fibre who says

Mosad , you are now THL’s very own “Tackleberry”!!! Good on you mate , if you want a Tac r1 that’s your business. It might not have given the right impression when you turned up with a utility vest and a pair of Aviator sunglasses ? though.

Reminds me of the “Jerky boys “ . They used to phone people though , but the wind ups were classic. They even had a recordings of Joe Pesci from Casino threatening people . Cruel but hilarious. There was one that stuck in my mind of a cowboy ringing a gay bar .... ??? oh and Frank Rizzo

A bit of bunny bashing

Too many squirrels about . Since I posted this I’ve shot another six as I’ve been driving through the woods . -
This rain has meant I’ve been spending some time sheltering in the mule . But instead of wasting time I’ve parked up by some freshly planted maize which is starting to get hit by rabbits. If they go unchecked they can soon do a bit of damage to the very young seedlings. Four and a squirrel in a little over an hour . My battered old Brno is still doing the business with its cheap and cheerful Hawke 3-9x40 . Oh and I scared a Magpie, I don’t think he’ll be back .
