I never said my EBT tackled an opponent half it’s size on an end of a dig What I’m getting at is the term GAME if you have a breed of dog that is willing to die for what it wants to do it’s Game it doesn’t have to be a bulldog
people with Lassie collies call them game , men who did stuff with bulldogs , would have a different idea to what is a game dog compared to to owners of other breeds

I don’t really understand people’s views on the trials they don’t seem dissimilar to what the Europeans are doing with the Jagds artificial earths to a badger under rules you get a certificate now almost everyone says that is rubbish doesn’t count for anything but when it’s the trials it’s the best thing ever is it rose tinted spectacles looking at the past it is one genuinely better than the other again I’m not knocking the trials I’m sure they were a good day out and a test and I would be a them if they were on today but I genuinely can’t see much of a difference
your probably right , but all the men who entered dogs at trials , ware proper work dog men , they did both field work probably a lot more than people today as it was not so against the law ,

Looking at pictures of some of those old trials dogs always makes me think they must have been really game animals to have performed the way they did with such poor physical confirmation....that one on the previous page with all the trophies you would think walking to the end of the street would be an accomplishment so to have showed gameness is incredible really.
the bitch with the trophies was very old in the photo, any how conformation don't matter , when they are in a tunnel , and its all nose to nose

pitbulls, were they ever used in the trials.
I don't think so.. but Wheatens are same size as Pit Bulls , so would be no reason they could not have been used
