I've been watching a lot of flapper racing meself lately.and it seems the 7/8ts hound 1/8t whippet seems to be the dog of choice for the job if your misses is serious and wants to be competative at the flapper racing I'd say anything less than 7/8ts And she be wasting her time. Head to any of the shows that has flapper racing at them and you should pick one up.or some one should be able to help you out. There seems to be a lot of this type of dog about. Good luck

i agree with ya tallyboy. to some folk terriers that wont, dont go to ground are worth fook all. and to some folk that like and use a good bushing terrier they are of great value .

in an ideal world the dog should be culled. in the real world , its thanks for the 800 . hard to turn down that sort of money when its offerd to ya,

good show yesterday. fair play to the owner of the qualifer for the master mcgrath agreeing to re run the heat after a few dogs ran out the track. decent man imo. i hope the dog goes on to do well for him.

lots of genuine reasons why someone might need to rehome or sell a dog.and dont see the problem with lads selling excess pups out of a litter they bred to take a pup or two for themselfs. its the c**ts that are wheeling and dealing in dogs purely for profit thats the problem. these dickheads shouldint be allowed near a dog never mind own one

theres always the jetski option lolol
ha ha your right i wouldint put anything past them tarmacadem engineers.

There is about three lads that do regular trips near you fatboy. Usually twice a week...... fairly reasonable cost too........ Irish/U.K. laws changed back in 2010 to align with EU laws. As no rabies in Ireland & U.K. the authorities chose to ignore these laws for dog transport between Ireland & U.K. until recently when somebody screwed up? Below is an extract from Dept of Agriculture. No doubt the transport lads have been pulled on this so are ensuring the required paperwork is in place. otherwise they will be stuck at the harbour with lots of dogs.........
Transport of companion animals (dogs, cats, ferrets) from Ireland to U.K.
Notice to commercial breeders
Under EU law for the protection of citizens from rabies, dogs, cats and ferrets moving between EU Member States should be accompanied by EU Pet Passports certifying microchip identification and rabies vaccination. Given that Ireland and UK traditionally operated a rabies free zone, both States agreed, on a risk analysis basis, that border compliance checks would not be undertaken.
However, over the last few months, on two different occasions, dogs supplied by commercial breeders in Ireland to clients in Great Britain were deemed to be illegally imported as they did not have the required paperwork and vaccination to show their compliance with EU law; on one of the occasions, a dog was seized from the client’s home and placed in quarantine for 4 weeks.
It is now clear that the British authorities have moved to fully implement EU law; therefore to avoid any risk to your clients you would be advised to ensure that all of your exports are compliant as soon as possible.
EU requirements for all dogs, cats and ferrets moving from Ireland to GB (i.e. across Irish Sea):
EU Pet Passport (obtainable from your vet) showing –
- Microchip identification
- Valid rabies vaccination (i.e. administered according to the manufacturer’s protocol). The primary (first) rabies vaccination must be administered at least 21 days before travel.
Additional requirements for commercial exports (i.e. sale or change of ownership):
- Transport has to have Type 2 Transporter Authorisation from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. Transporters must comply with the Guidelines on Animal Welfare during Transport.
- A vet must complete and certify (in passport) clinical examination of animals within 24 hours of travel to ensure they are healthy and fit for journey.
- A health (‘Balai’) certificate must be issued by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine within 24 hours of scheduled departure time – available from your local Regional Veterinary Office.
Contact details for transporter approval and for Department Regional Veterinary Offices are attached.

a bit of a pain in the bolloxs having to go tru all that red tape to get a dog from one country to the other, but on the upside it might put a stop to the scumbag dog thiefs robbing peoples dogs and shipping them from one country to the other. at least if your dog is robbed u might have a better chance getting it back if its in the same country

would have to agree that the terrier numbers were well down from last year. in saying that thought the terrier that won overall terrier was in the best condition ive ever seen a terrier.fair play to the chap that owns it. and would agree with blue 999 i thought that the whole lurcher terrier and whippet area was a big improvement on last year. so other than the terrier numbers being low . i think the show was a well ran event.

lol really could someone tell me what an "anti" is ?
my post may be silly but im just worried about my dog thats all, a couple of years ago she was mauled by a greyhound i think it was i didnt see it properly my mother did but i heard her squealing she had 3 puncture wounds around her from were teeth could of went in and she tends to be quite scared of lurcher/greyhounds also pretty sure the owner of the other dog kicked her a couple of times as underneath her was black from bruising so she tends to bark at them ever since this happened.
didnt mean to ask any stupid questions although i can see why people on here probably think im an idiot now for asking about the dog
right im only going to tell u this once, so listen carefully. an anti is your uncles wife. sorted

sounds like it could of been one of them search and rescue bull x greyhounds. searching the fields for lost or injured rabbits so he can rescue them and make sure they are ok before letting them go some where safe so they can live happy ever after. the end,

that's right mate. Its a pistol type built in battery. Just charge at home and away ya gowhat are these like for giving your dog a few runs on, anyone tried one
My first lamp , liked it a lot smallish tight beam, with another tiny walking light attached .Very handy for putting the dog back on slip, or getting over obstacles, better wiring than the light force but most of them are!what are these like for giving your dog a few runs on, anyone tried one
Thought it was one led,,,,,no wires etc....built in battery
-
Handy little lamp, 250 yard beam, 3 hours use on one charge ,not in the same league as good lamping kit. But it does the job.heard clusion have a new lamp out very similar to this one but with a 500 yard beam and a bit brighter, pound.

Fox Killed A Cat
in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Posted
X girlfriend of mine had a 6 month old small mongrel bitch pup.kept finding it playing with dead kittens heads in the garden.couldn't work out what was going on.she rings me in work one day and says that the bitch pup is playing in the back garden with a fox. Told her she was seeing things. Next day she films the fox on her phone coming over the wall with a half eaten kitten and giving it to the mongral pup to play with. Fox was seen nearly every day bringing dead kittens and playing with the pup for about 8 weeks. I wouldn't of believed it only I seen it me self. Fox's 100 percent prey on cats.
