Yes he definitely would be a better hunter than some crosses. he would hunt the air a lot and will follow ground sent he has found a lot of stuff for us.
i use him a lot with terriers he is 100% on a mark and not afraid to get stuck in when he has to.

He is ok jumps fences well can catch on the Lamp not in the same league a whipper grey but being a half pointer he is a great dog on the hill and rough ground can take a knock great feet, not everyone's choice but suits the type of hunting we do. Can take him rough shooting too will point a bird and hunt cover well.

I hunt.I'm proud to hunt.in that picture is me my father a cousin and nephew.most of our family hunt.its not illegal here. I try to get the young lads involved.educate them what's right and wrong.we live on a housing estate where its easy for young lads to take the wrong road.but these lads keep dogs have an interest and stay away from trouble so far. Nobody is allowed come hungover.nobody. all of us have insurance. I've also a kennel licence and meat licence so we take it serious.the pictures are of dead foxes. No graphic pics.no broke up dogs.thanks for your concern tho lad. Were proud in what we do. And if every body else took the same route in doing it properly keeping fit healthy dogs instead of hiding away scared of what others might think wed be in a better situation. Antis can be heard and seen every where.but who's talking up for us?? I'll make no apologies. Its what we do and we love doing it.
I was not knocking you for hunting nor was i looking for an apology, i know it is legal here but for how much longer? i hunt here too and i don't hide away scared of what others might think but i do think that fox hunting in ireland is in danger from not only antis but from all angles government included, so i will stay under the radar for a while yet. as i said before every man to his own. Happy Hunting

You may be shovel shy but you are certainly not camera shy, you are a brave boy standing for those photographs in the present climate as far as hunting is concerned .
but every one to there own. you seem to have a good pack of hounds happy hunting.

There will be some smart ass checking the location of these pics that are taken on a phone with the location setting switched on and the next time you go back they will have it dug, or worse the anti's just might have the location of an unknown den an have a camera on it in future.

Those are some smart looking tykes,,were they accidental bred or purpose bred, and how high are they.
They were accidental, a friend who hunts a pack of fellhounds owned the lakeland bitch we took her on and pupped her and gave her back to him. we knew the hound and the bitch were good workers so we took a chance on them it worked out ok in the end. they made around 20 to 21 inches.
-
Seen those before on here and always liked the look of them, how tall are they and will they hunt most things atb fella.
They are around 20 or 21 inches, we use them for fox only and they were never encouraged on anything else but i am sure they would have hunted anything if allowed.

They look like crackers pal, white one looks a serious animal
Thanks BGD, the white bitch looks well but the black and tan bitch would be the best out of the two, we had two dogs as well from the same litter which were good hunters but we moved them on because we just keep bitches less hassle when they come in season. these are the dogs one was killed last year on the road while hunting, haven't heard how the other dog is doing in a while
