  1. Yep I remember reading a post last month or so about someone who bought one of the cheap ones of eBay he said it was really good, I can't remember if he had shock or spray type tho. I did here that the spray ones punish the dog in the wrong way tho because the smell lingers on them as aposed to the shock type witch doesn't punish them any longer than the bark lasts.
  2. Top tip, got this at my club works really well. Ours is 10mm rope, only down side is it can restrict casting but most people if not all accept it is a necessity.
  3. And why is that? because im an eel fisherman and struggle to get a few at the best of times. As has already been said, their life is hard enough as it is when trying to return to our rivers. "Because I'm an eel fisherman and I don't like it" "because there life is hard enough" Sounds a bit hypocritical coming from a hunter, Would 'nt tighter regulations like catch limits be fairer to all. I love my hunting as much as fishing but ain't no hypocrite as I think that eels have a hard time as it is, so they should go back , same as if rabbits are scarce then I won't

  8. A canicom shock collar cured my pat of his sheep chasing antics, might not be to everyone's taste and not even legal if you live in Wales but He doesn't even have to wear it now and will happily goe nose to nose with them.
  9. Fair play if you were famous that would be a top selling autobiography, Welcome aboard buddy.
  10. imo ,shooters , guns , cocks , snoby c**ts or whatever folk want to call them and the organisation they subscribe into saved terrierwork by needing it for the protection of game birds . i,m sure the nwtf could answer your question I don't see what the national wild turkey federation has got to do with it,lol Only joking that's a good read and a good set of rules to abide by cheers.
  11. I was thinking the same as you two but did'nt want to say it for fear of offending any shooting boys, cheers for doing it for me lol.
  12. Legal to dispatch fox to a gun for the protection of game birds but not the same for say protection of lambs as this could be just as damaging to a farmers pocket. Sorry if I have misread the rules or not understood was just wondering as I live opposite a large sheep farm. Atb Rob
  13. Still available and still keen if any things about.many thanks Rob.
  14. I used a baller fix plumbing valve, the type with compression fittings at either end and a shut of screw in between like you have in your bathroom or kitchen. Machine your exhaust out with a 19 mm hole saw, fit valve and and piece of 15 mm copper pipe to valve and a piece of hose to copper pipe if desired. As stated above if not welded you will always have to keep an eye on fittings due to the vibration. Good luck.
  15. Sorry if this ones been done to death guys, I would be interested to know how much walking time your terriers get each day, I'm lucky enough to be able to take my boy to work with me and walk him before work starts and at break times then after work at night. About 1 hour 30 mins, roughly the recommended amount for a pat. Would be nice to know what kenneld dogs get and is it better to cover distance or make the time more stimulating ie brushing, playing ect.
  16. Hello all, new to the site and would like to meet like minded people for ratting work, have a three year old Patterdale and a smoker but only one permission of my own on a cow shed witch just does'nt hold hardly any vermin. Dog is 100% trustworthy with livestock, anything would be great. Regards Rob.
