Those anti-protectionist pro-competition rules are one of the most unsocialist things about the EU pal, it makes it almost impossible for states to nationalise industry one of the key pillars of socialism. Every state in the Western world have some hard fought for semi-socialist policies (welfare etc) to keep the masses pacified but you can't call them a socialist state unless their economic policy is guided by socialist philosophy. Neoliberalism works great at what it's intended to do, transfering wealth from the bottom to the top. You're obviously more clued up on economics than me but

In what way? The EU's economic policy is neoliberal not socialist. What's socialist about forcing states to privatise national industry and implement massive cuts to social programs?

It really isn't looking good for Leave Remember to remind everyone you know to get out and vote, even offer lifts to any old folk or people that will struggle to get to the polling station you know. Unlike a GE every single vote really does count.

Years ago I had a bulldog bitch healing up in a crate in my kitchen/diner and one morning I came downstairs to find her laying in the crate with a stomach like a beachball obviously all sort of panic thinking of internal injuries etc so rushed her to a sympathetic vet where they did scans and xrays only to discover her stomach was absolutely full of pasta very strange because I hadn't given any to her and she was locked up safely in her crate whenever I wasn't there.
