  1. In your opinion socks, what different training methods would you use for a coursing dog and a lamper ? There are lots of differing opinions, some lads i know just run them fit, at start of season and are out quite a bit and just build them up week by week. Another couple of different fellows i know, run them quite young and try and build an inbuilt stamina in them from pups, not everyone agree,s with there methods but works for them. The lads i,m on about are just lampers. Some other folk keep them ticking over all summer by biking or behind motor.
  2. Yeah ive used the bike, canals not far from my house and is ideal
  3. A couple of local-ish coursing lads i know run theres behind the motor and a few other lads up and down the country do this as well. Ive never tried it myself, i imagine finding a suitable road would be a problem round here. Anybody else do this ? How far and fast and were ect ?
  4. Are you just talking coursing dogs here tiny ? And should be a good thread
  5. Very true bosun He was a dam site better than sum of the dog choring scum now that keep lurchers.
  6. I find that very hard to believe, I bought a pup off him 15 years ago. Was 12 weeks old and had to take it back as it had no human contact at all. She hid anywhere she could to get away from folk. Dog dealer pure and simpl that aint the first time i heard that i got told he used to have up 2 a 100 dogs at a time, no man could run that many in a life time lol, He was a character old len and could certainly spin a yarn were a dog sale was concerned
  7. True but he was a likable old rogue and one of the many colorful characters of the doggin game. Had a saluki stud called luke back in the day that sired a few, a lad i used to know had one out of it. I never thought he deserved bird though for selling a few bits and bobs, not considering the scumbag nonces and such like that walk our streets now. If am honest though i would of never of bought a dog of him, but was ok for jabs and stuff
  8. I heard of a very well known lurcherman selling pups of this cross for abit more than that ... Was it Typ Ratcher fitchet ? I know he did breed some a while back. Atb

  11. After reading Borderscots thread on his Whin visit, i agreed with vin,s post saying bring back Whin. Also the likes of Mackem Bobsuperdogs joe-ox and even Mark Brick, although i dont think Mackem was banned ? I enjoyed there posts and the crack they had, i know there was a few heated debates but you have to take this internet malarkey with a pinch of salt, especially were Whin and the Brick were concerned. They certainly livened the place up, although i would describe them a bit like marmite So come on fella,s its summer and there,s not much going on, so bring them back i say and liv
