Often wondered how many species of birds the cuckoo will lay an egg in their nests. I know when we were kids bird nesting when finding a dunnocks nest or a reed warbler always hoped they would be a cuckoo's egg in the nest but we never found one.
Hi tabs, they’lll lay in a few. You’ll get Robin/cuckoos, Dunnock/CC, Reed Warbler/CC pied wagtail/CC pipit/CC etc and these will specialise in only one species. They may be others that drop an egg anywhere in the above birds nests. I think 50 odd birds have been recorded as being parasitised, but only a few are used regularly, as above. …insect feeders and eaters

I don’t know if many on here have the coffee bug but I buy one when I’m out and about, sometimes on the way out shooting or hunting. It all started off at about £1.50 a cup a couple of years ago but on Friday, I was charged £4 for a mediocre Americano from a place I’ve used many times. No more, that’s it for me, I’ve found a guy who runs a greasy spoon and does a Nescafé for £1.50
️ Can anyone beat that?

I’ve learnt to manage it. If you think about it too much, too deeply, you’ll go downhill. I remember loved ones at the right time for me and think “there but for the grace of god…” I’m still here, I can’t do anything about what happened to them but I can bring them to life briefly by remembering good times and that helps. Look around you, everyone is carrying thoughts like this, but we have to keep moving forward. Get on with your life, lead it the best way you can and go out with no regrets
Good luck mush

What the fook is he playing at? He’s gone woker than woke by changing the name of a ship his mother had agreed to, from HMS Agincourt to HMS Achilles, for fear that it’ll upset the French! His father Prince Phillip must be laughing in his grave. He bottled it with the shooting/hunting craic when we really needed him to stand his ground and help fight our corner. He’s turning into a right mard arse whimp of a king

It’s winter and just the weather. At one time the weather was mentioned for a couple of minutes after the news, now it’s the news!

Met him a few times and always loved being in his company. He fought for what he believed in, and that was terrier and hound work. Another great terrier man gone but he’s left us some wonderful memories. RIP Sir

I had one (Halcon) and it was a good coat with lots of pockets. I’ve since gone to a Harkila pro hunter and a Musto smock. In fact I’ve several decent coats in the van

Cuckoo laying

And size. The cuckoo is a large bird but it’s egg in comparison is tiny, otherwise the host bird couldn’t brood it
