    I have a wee bitch bred by Mike himself a top class bitch game as hell hits hedges has pulled rabbits from the mouth of burrows better at long jumps than fences but easily clears a barbed wire fence The only draw back I find here where the rabbits are lamp shy too many after the rabbits with lamp the long run in takes abit of the wind out of the wee whippet comared to the big dog But she make it up in the determation Recomend this blood line to anyone if I knew how to post pictures I would put afew of her on here

    [We have two whippets and a spaniel The son uses the whippets for a bit of lamping I use them for ferreting the spaniel does a bit of bushing and marking for us One of the whippet is 6year old the spaniel 7 and both being to suffer a few pains after a hard day or a night on the lamp So I thought this might be a time for a new pup learnig of the rest I have been offered a pup from a good freind it is a broken coated the cross is as follows Dam whippet - irish terrier standig around 19 inhes Sire G/HOUN-COLLIE standing around 23 inches mum and dad both working well it is a bitch I

    I own 2 whippets and have given up on this subject I have had my 19'' bitch race against dogs over 22'' and only their word that it is a full bred whippet And as whippets are all shapes and sizes who is going to define the pure bred whippet which brings us back to previous topic on this fourm. There seems to be no way of pleasing everyone on this I will and have raced my dogs againts Lurchers

    Albert can I confirm what Poppy has said is correct Our wee bitch won best in show came away with a bag of meal and rassette.When at the red mills stand bluebell arrive with tantards for judges we all shook hands when we asked Matt was there a prize? he said he was not aware of any prize . May be a lesson to be learnrd it would be nicer to be presentrd rather than have to go looking for the award. Thanks for clearing this up Albert

    2 clubs i thought ther was only 1 is this another club to cause tension among the whippet people or is it 1 for the people that cant win at the other club or cant get ther own way just my thought on it totally agree longstone lad, the proper sporting whippet club is the only one as far as i know. the other is some idgit trying to start his own so that he can win all the time with his 'kc reg' whippet. why does this person not attend the sporting whippet club and offer opinions in it for a seperate papers only whippet race as well as open racing??? possibly coz they never win anything?

    nice pic sammy the wee whippet looks in top conditon mate Thanks for that ant dog.It was a great day meeting some old and new friends Thanks to Albert hoppig that the weather is abit kinder to us at shanes but then again every cloud nas a silver lining in the fact a bit of rain is going to soften the ground for dogs competing in the racing .     I had my two whippets in the racing paid 6 quid,we should have been told before the start of the race there was no trophy up for grabs And no puppy racing because there was no trophy. So why have the whippet race with no trophy? Think it is a rip off taking our money with no prize Prehaps one of the Gilford crew might come on here and justify this. Sammy
