    I just got granted my FAC and purchased my .22 last week. I have since been offered a .308 for free from a friend as he has no use for it anymore. I have just started work on an estate that shoot a lot of deer so a having a use for the rifle is no problem however Im just wondering if the fact I have only just got my certificate last week will count against me getting a big calibre rifle?

    where i pick up we had a cock bird that was extremely territorial and he was nick named Archie, they even stopped doing a small drive just incase he was in there and got shot... Unfortunately 2 weeks before the end of the season the bus driving the students to beat 1 day ran him over.....twat!!! aye kenny loved archie! im one of the students that was one said killer bus!!

    took a stoat out of a trap today and it must be at least 15 inches long. havent caught a lot but this is the biggest I have ever seen. is this quite a common size or not? seems pretty big to me but as i say not caught a lot.

    Been looking at hunting shop from the US called Cabela's and just wondering if anyones bought anything from them? If so is the clothing any good? and do you get hit with a big bill for shipping and tax or not? cheers

    Im going to take a 5 year old springer dog from someone I know, hopefully to use as a gundog. It will be my first dog so just wondering how easy it is to take a dog from someone else and have it work for you. Also looking for any tips or advice for any potential problems? cheers

    cheers for the advice put a hare out this morning as a bait and a pair of crows were on it within an hour so went out with my mate later on and shoot both of them. got another hare just before dark aswell. all in all a good day!

    planning on trying to pick off a few blackies tomorrow and wondering how easy it is to lay out a bait, get into a hide and shoot them with an air rifle? never tryed before, probably take a bit of time but will i be successful? cheers

    Hi I've attached the leaflet I referred to when working out the best solution. In the end the following was accepted: A gun safe to the specified standard with a small internal lockable ammo safe. These are large enough to hold around 500 round of .22, your bolt and a moderator. Hope that helps Bob cheers that cleared things up mate, thanks for the help

    hopefully my final question regarding FAC regarding storing ammo am i right in saying that shotgun cartridges can be stored in the cabinet, but firearms ammo must be stored in a seperate location under lock and key. So for rifle ammo would a small lockable safe be ok? and does it have to be secured to a wall or is it ok bolted to the top of my cabinet which is in turn bolted to the wall?

    aye getting a side by side in reasonably good nick so was just wanting a cheap semi auto as a work gun for shooting vermin rather than wreck my s x s. would never use a semi auto at a shot. what like are the franchis? what sort of money you talking about for one?

    was looking at an escort in a shop yesterday looked a nice gun, in mint condition only had about 2/300 cartridges through it. guy was wanting £300 for it, afraid just out my price range atm

    mate had a pair and they split within 6 months. Ive got meindl dovre gtx's and in my opinion for a bit extra money its worth it - cant fault them at all!

    Got my SGC on its way and looking for a semi auto for some vermin. Either a new one for relatively cheap (around £250) or someone on here selling a second hand one (would need to be around perthshire,Scotland) cheers

    in the process of getting FAC and have picked a .22 rifle to shoot rabbits. Was thinking of getting a bipod for it but guy in gun shop said i wouldnt need one for a .22? is he right?
