  2. Had to look at this twice..dogs the absolute double of my non ped...
  3. Fair play D...how it should be..atb.
  4. I'm not sure tbh,ran at the Fed 200 thre in 2019,no idea what they run there normally..
  5. They go up to 200 yd now Claude ,at Horden..
  6. I think it's probably hard to grasp how strong these little dogs are chats for people who haven't seen one in the flesh and running..definetly not a one off or a freak ,just selectively bred..fact is that dog would flat line the vast majority of under 23 lurchers aswell..
  7. 12lb is really small,I wouldnt have thought there was many that size..but put it to say an 18lber,you'll get more smaller pups..I get what you're saying ,but it's just selectively breeding the smallest dogs..
  8. Some have a lot more greyhound in than others...put a small non ped to a small non ped,the pups will be reasonably small..put a small non ped to s greyhound you can get 50/60 lb,ers.
  9. I'm sure I saw this dog run, poss the Jack Cadman at Old hall..could be wrong..theres not many that small..
  10. My non peds the biggest out of a litter of 9..hes 52lb race fit, smallest is 20 odd...
  11. I cant speak for everyone Steve and I'm sure some clubs are like that...which ones did you go to?key thing is to keep turning up..sometimes its frustrating helping people..seen many turn up a few times run trials, train the dogs to the traps, passing trials, time trials etc then just lose interest...the more you go the more people will help you out, whether its training or racing the dog you have or sourcing a pup.Theres not that many bred believe it or not so usually they're spoken for before birth, but occasionally there is spare pups..and not at ridiculous prices...Dave
  12. I race a non ped,so go to the opens throughout the season..it is very noticeable that the vast majority are the wrong side of 40...lots are pensioners..new members of all ages are encouraged..I just think people in general have changed..owt that takes them away from x box,PC etc they're just not interested..Its a shame, but its definitely a declining sport...
  13. Theres a woman at my racing club imported a first cross malli/whippet from the states..she does agility/flyball with it...As soon as you clap eyes on it the breeding obvious, nice looking thing, like a heavier boned whippet..Its very focused on its owner, but never looks settled around her...speed wise it's ok,but nowt to shout about...I dont doubt it would do well as a ferreting/mouching dog...but personally I wouldnt want one...no off switch and tbh a bit of a spooky fecker...
  14. Hate reading posts like this, carried one off myself two years back...I'm sorry for your loss Blacky...nowt worse..
  15. Like others have said ,it depends on individual dog..my bed/whip/grey had a cracking coat on him, never wire a coat in any weather..my broken coated bed/whip/collie/grey/deerhound dont like the cold, but rains no bother.Surprisingly my non peds impervious to cold/rain...thick skinned, nice double coat..apart from his bald arse lol..
  16. Not decided which one I'm using yet Francie..be loose wire rather than mats..easier to put it where you want it..I'll just be doing the dogs benches with it...I'll just put it on half the bench so they can get off it if they get too warm. Its easy to fit, just tape element and thermostat down, cover in flexible screed, then I'm putting vinyl over that..cost me about 100 a bench for all of the above plus digital control panel..The heat they give off is unbelievable, way better than lamps imo, warmth directly to the dogs and no fire hazard...
  17. I'm in the process of building kennels and I'm putting underfloor heating in them..cant understand why it's not more popular...easy to install and cheap to buy and run..
  18. What area are you in ,I might be able to put you in touch with someone who races non peds...
  19. If you cant feel them now I very much doubt they'll drop..my lurched had 1 you could feel the other was up in his stomach, they only found and removed it during surgery...
  20. Maybe hes trying to revive working ferrets..are they crossed with owt..Hes already saved bedlingtons,Glenn's and currently hes sorting out Plummers..we,d all be fukced without him...
