  1. Recently got a working line GS bitch pup. Most recent pics of her and Russell out swimming. She very smart, agile jumping fences n walls twice her height no bother, follows the Russell every where, she'll definitely do a bit of hunting, how good??  we'll see. The guard instinct in her is very strong, she's super smart. We had a huge GSD before he was great guard dog and would dig rats with terrier but no where near as agile or fast as the working line bitch. Im gonna train her to the lamp, don't expect much return in numbers but it'll keep her fit. A big ears got up in front of her recently and she gave it a run and got a turn out of her.

There's a lot more in the working type, like all working line dogs, but Im very happy with our bitch. Id love to put a Greyhound across her in the future, might happen in few yrs.

  2. Spent the weekend fishing over in Gaeltacht area in West Ireland. Camped two nights, fished a local pier and blanked on the Fri night had a charter booked from Innis Mór island on the Saturday. We all had plenty of fish to the feathers and I got a nice pollack to a jig head on the light spinning rod which was good fun. My young lad got biggest fish of the day. Threw plenty back and could've had lots more if we kept going with the feathers but we'd enough maks got to fill the freezer with bait for a good while.

    Great weekend.

  3. Went out to walk a permission today, really just keep Zaras field craft education up and to see the lay of the land and if there's any bunnies back. Very happy with the pup, ignoring all stock even when curios and aggressive calfs n horse came close she never reacted. She's getting through gates and jumping fences etc...no bother. Nothing phases her so Im delighted with her education so far. Got a nice little hunt off a squidgers for the terrier, at this time of yr I don't make any effort to catch.

  4. Summer walks are mostly down by a local estuary. Is tidal so it fills on the high and drains out on the low, when it's draining it the water moves at really strong current. Had my two down swimming other evening against the flow. They were hardly moving the against the flow, great exercise.

  5. So went up to some permission to cut myself some hunting sticks, after loosing one during a summer estuary walks, left it behind when putting dogs in the van. Got three nice sticks on the way back seen a family of basils out in a field of beans. I Took Floyd over to give em a spin around the beans. Good school day for the cubíns and they got away no harm done and alot wiser for it.

Zara showed interest in the scent too.

Looking forward to August evenings up on this land.

  6. 46 years old still love the tunes n a rave. Myself n mates try n get to a trance festival once a year and every month or two I go over to my pals shed to listen to him spin a few tunes on his decks. Never to old to rave, you do get get too old to "get on it" heavy but love for the music never goes away.

If you're into trance, prog house or tech trance, techno....can listen to our sets here.

  7. Pure bred working line German Shepherd bitch pup Zara. Had a GS dog before, he came out mooching all time but was primarily a guard dog. Zara got same job description, family guard and protector but available on mooching days to jump in.

Loving this book. Not finished it yet but big thing jumping out so far is how quickly and permanently the show fraternity ruined working breeds. Within a few yrs of the first pedigree show working breeds began to suffer. The smooth and wired hair fox terrier which were the absolute "go to" for digging were very soon in only a decade or so ruined by the obsession with rosettes and pedigree. Great book.
