  1. I would much rather have a big whippet than a small greyhound, whippets can be great rabbit dogs most have great drive good nose and much tougher than you would think and i reckon a hell of a lot more clever than a greyhound.
  2. I can't believe this has done 12 pages, you either like pics or you don't, brexit not as complex.
  3. My mate caught 3 from same land a few years back.
  4. One of my favourites Chuck Berry, a lot of bands cut their teeth on his stuff.
  5. I take a few pics for myself, its nice to remember the day out. I have had decent bags and 1 or 2 and i don't need a big bag for a nice picture.
  6. Looks like some going to be broken coated.
  7. Them pics are stunning mate, beautiful birds.
  8. My beddy x is hand stripped every year, never get much hair coming off her in-between as with other beddy x i have had, the collie greyhound i have is casting now, brush it everyday to keep it to a minimum in the house as it sheds loads. I would not clip a beddy x, end up with shite soft coats, hand stripping is the best way.
  9. do you fish for sea trout and salmon as well mate. Never hardly see a eel anywhere now.

  11. Do you mean for racing or working. Seen loads of fast non peds but any i know of that worked suffered with injury a lot. Don't know about the kc type racing dogs, i know a lad who got a kc racing pup to work will have to ask how it is coming on.

  13. this braid i was using in the lighter stuff is firemen crystal. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Beadsmith-FireLine-Beading-Thread-4lb-size-B-006-50yds-CRYSTAL-colour-/222354911551?hash=item33c562b13f:g:5kcAAOSw-jhUFzho I go light to be able to cast tiny baits well, i put a tiny swivel on and about 2ft of mono.
  14. That rio afs should go well, i have a few of them, i like the afs outbound with intergrated running line, just use that with poly leaders.
  15. Must be a trout line mate, rest assured the rod is ok, just a matter of getting right line. Is it a big river you are fishing, plenty of space for a big d loop, i have a windcutter 8/9/10 multi tip if you would like to try it pal.
  16. What weight line are you using? I would use a fluorocarbon leader and drop down to 3lb or even 2lb...If you are free lining bit of bread, on the leader I would get some of the "floatant" fly fishermen use on their line to make it float...Although freelining is the most natural, I would also try a small clear bubble float as a casting aid/line controller... If braid about 4lb for the light rod, mono 3 or 2lb. I hooked a salmon with that little greys rod last year fishing for sea trout was a fresh fish well into the teens, a 30mm rapala 4lb braid, played it for 1 1/2 hours before it mana
  17. Aye mate an usually very well, try some smaller plugs with a gead in em to rattle, or bigger plugs for bigger trout hahaCheers. I live couple seconds walk away from a lovely bit of chalk stream that's free to fish the trout are wise I see them going to take spinners in the day but I allways seem to lose them straight away as if there not getting hooked properly ? Also what sort of lures and spinners are best for fast shallow gin clear water ? Or is it just stick to the trusty old free line bread and size 6 hook lol Lure wise i like a small rapala best in clear water, 20 and 30mm ones, other
  18. Aye definetly, if you are fishing rivers try the thinner water in necks and tails of pools, they work that water under cover of darkness.
  19. I found the one i had worked better with the heavier line.
  20. Personally with the rapala i think the fish hit them really hard and i have my drag set very soft so the fish can draw a bit of line off the drag as i hit it, otherwise i think the tear the hook hold out. I wonder if the choice of mono or braid is a factor with hook ups? I use braid for sea fishing, but I have so far stayed with mono for the bit of freshwater fishing I do...On a small spinning rod, I suspect braids lack of stretch might make it a bit harsh when striking? I think you you need your drag set a bit lighter with braid than mono when salmon river fishing, i know it goe
