  1. There's still a few lad's that keep the genuine "early" blood about,,,

Another thing which people tend to forget, is quite a few "lines" of so, say , well know terrier men, took bitches to Brian's dog's, but now he's "not the in- thing anymore" never mention the mating's ???

  2. To be able to say you have got a good working line,  the bitches need to be able to work to the same high standard as the dog's,,  if they don't then there's something wrong,,,

Not every one is going to turn out to be a star, but the bitches must be bloody good worker's or if they aren't , don't breed from them!!!

  3. While there's a certain amount of "luck" in breeding a litter of terriers, you should know what mating is the best option if you have your own line/family for a lot of years, one of the biggest problems is that most look at what they have in their yard through "rose tinted glasses" and aren't  honest with themselves, you don't just need to look at the sire and dam but their litter mates/grandparent's etc,,,

You can weigh the odds of getting consistant worker's in your favour if your careful, aswell as a good dose of luck, not all will make the grade but it should help,,

One thing's for sure, all this rubbish about using a fox killing dog is all well and good, but if the bitch isn't a bloody good worker your onto a loser from the start,, a good, well bred, hard working bitch is what you should be breeding from not mediocre,,

  4. Alright lads I've got a young dog here that I've a couple of digs to and he's done well flying in fact . Now I entered him the other day and I think the job might've of been to much him in hindsight . He's got plenty of time with me I'm in no rush But lads what 1st season mistakes won't you tolerate and what will you tolerate ?

Sound's more like the owner's mistake than the young dog's :laugh::laugh:

  8. He's a proper little weasel, not so brave with grown men, he hide's behind a camera most of the time, always slagging the old bill off and then when he get's a slap he run's straight to them!!!!!!

  9. If the number's of b.o.p. keep increasing the way they are, it won't be long before the "expert's" start moaning about other species that are in decline, and yet they don't care if it's game birds!!

Most "expert's" haven't got a bloody clue on number's of b.o.p. in the first place :wallbash:

  10. You are far more likely to find a job as an underkeeper on a "commercial shoot" than private,so don't close the door on it bud!

Your "ex" headkeeper sounds like he didn't have a bloody clue, if he wasn't hitting the bag/shot count then he's not going to be there for many season's

Not all big shoot's are keeperd by numpties  (mind you they are about)

    Good luck

  11. They sure have a lot of kit, drones, gps, radio's, video, it's nothing new really,

A lot of pack's look out in the morning on a hunting day to see them sat at a road end and then all they have to do is follow the trailer

    :censored:

The "weasle's" are more switched on to the law than most think, they try everything to get the old bill involved,....the latest one seem's to be quad bikes
