  1. Alright lads.. I have a few permissions that I need to hit with the Ferrets as the Farmer has been on to me. I work away so don't keep ferrets hence the reason in offering some one a day out. I know plenty of lads with ferrets but most are flat out on their own permissions etc so any one fancies a day out drop me a PM. No idiots/chavs/wronguns bother messaging me, this is available to a decent person/persons only. North Yorkshire area You must have all the ferreting gear, ill take the runners and shotguns if needed Atb Wez
  2. I've never dealt with the man my self so can't comment. The sire and dam of my pups were bred by him years back but owned by some good lads who 1000% graft their dogs and that's all that matterd to me. As I've already said I've seen the bitch work and she excells at what she does working with the terriers around a hole. To add I've also been out with a young black dog which has Powells blood in it and that dog hasn't put a foot wrong all season it is turning into a very handy terrier. I'm just speaking as I find but the man must be doing something right wether he lies or not as all the dog
  3. Got permission in the dales never had any problems like that, come across the odd poacher or gang of them should I say but never had any trouble.. Sounds like a keeper to me, there is no shortage of them up there and they are not the type to f**k about..
  4. Work offshore on the rigs 2 weeks on 2 weeks off
  5. Looking well Gareth mate. What height did she make? I know the feeling mate! don't seem to slow down for anything, they have a lot of drive!
  6. Yep you got that right pal, f***ing nuts they are lol!
  7. Cheers for the comments lads, they turned out exactly how I expected, racey but strong little dogs that can motor really looking forward to showing them a bit next season. Should easily be quick enough for rabbits matt, I have a little whippet lurcher bitch and these at 10 months can keep up with her and she can shift. Grompz, they are from a dog and a bitch bred direct from powell the grandmother being Powells Gem bitch ? Cheers Ginger Bread. They bust cover that hard coming back with a face full of claret is the norm so they have a few cuts and scrapes up to now lol
  8. Sounds a handy mut pal. I've seen the Dam to these go and f**k me was I impressed. Little dogs with big hearts.
  9. Alright bud, the make up of your hounds are 11/16th whippet x 5/16th bull, hope this helps Maths was never my strong point lol, cheers Wide boy ?
  10. Cheers mate. They are about 20" tts, they can shift for their size. The dam was a 5/8 whippet 3/8th bull put to a 3/4 whippet 1/4 bull, not sure what that equates to percentage wise
  11. For working cover they have to be seen to be believed mate, they are on par if not better than my terriers for working the cover, they will smash through anything and have keen noses for their age. They are bouncing off the walls at the minute I think once they start work they will settle down slightly. I've seen the dam to them work and she is some bitch with no reverse gear what so ever, but with that she's a steady dog who will also retrieve a rabbit to hand although this isn't what she is primarily used for.
  12. A couple of pics of our Bull whippets (Powells pocket rockets) around 10-11 months. Mad keen holding them back is the problem. Looking forward to seeing them go next season
  13. Cracking write up pal and a good result atb
  14. Fair play mate you got the result, bet that wasn't easy by your self
  15. Lads in your personal experiences of those who have used the Bellman and Barryvox was the Barryvox noticeably me accurate than the Bellman? We seem to hit on the side of the dog most of the time using the Bellman, I see lads rate the Barryvox over the Bellman so I'm guessing it's more accurate? We had a discussion yesterday after digging to the side of the dog yet again and it prompted the question?
  16. Now then Pud mate, that sounds spot on pal.. I'm away back to work Tuesday for a couple of weeks so will be when im back.. hope all is well pal, I'd like to see how that little bitch is coming on she's a topper
  17. Cheers Taz mate he's showing all the right signs, back out again tomorrow will let you know he we get on pal
  18. After being at work for a few weeks i decided to visit a local permission which I hadn't been around for a while in my time off, the shooting of game birds was nearly finished so I thought I'd have a walk about. Whilst heading down the track I noticed the old boy pottering about on his honda big red. He gave me the wave and I stopped to await his greeting "where have you been" he said jokingly.. I explained that I had been busy with work, the mrs and baby etc.. the usual craic. On he went to tell me of a big dog fox he had seen kicking around and a vixen had been seen on the prowl as well,
  19. I bring pups in for a couple of weeks get them used to being handled and being around humans etc.. soon after its out in the kennels they go. Never had any bother doing it this way and all my lot are well socialised and steady. Mind you I think it's some times warmer in the kennels then the house the amount of kingspan I put in them!!
  20. Happy days Mate sounds like a cracking day all round. Glad the youngster went well, high hopes for the future i should think mate. Glad this weather is finally turning as we have struggled getting stuff to ground with it being so mild, i was pleased to see a good hard frost this morning long may it continue.
  21. Have a good day mate speak to you later on
  22. I have never bred a litter of dogs in my life FD just for the record. I have however been around working breeds all my life and haven't yet felt the need to breed. If the time came when I needed a pup from a dog or bitch that had proven it's self and excelled at their job I may consider it, my circles are small and the lads who a hunt, shoot and work both terriers and lurchers with all have good stock so the only time I would breed would be if there was a demand and more importantly if I myself wanted a pup back to keep a line going. If I had a litter of say 6 pups from tested earth dogs an
