  6. I will do matey. . . . .the one is particularly 'sharp', she's a bit of a pain for sheep work as she pretty much just wants to run and catch them.
  7. Ive got three collies that I've started to do quite a lot of bushing with, and they are really picking it up well. Two of them are also keen as hell on the lamp and have caught a few rabbits and rats. . . . got a plan on trying them on some other bits and bobs, so we shall see. . . . .

  9. Its funny how some people talk about poaching like its a badge of honour. Like you're only a 'proper' lurcher man, worthy of being on the 'THL's craziest lurcherman' thread, if you poach. Ive done a fair bit of poaching, bit generally always tended to avoid private land, as its too much hassle, and I respect the right of the farmer to not want anyone on, etc. Most of my poaching has been done on public / FC etc etc land. But f**k me is it nice having permission! Being able to walk, lamp, hunt, catch game, and not have to look over your shoulder. Ive taken a good many lads from this sit
  10. Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce the reason lurchermen have a shocking reputation in the farming community. It's not a couple of bunnies, it's potentially damage to stock / crops that you need to make a living. The fact our family has worked it's arse off for 4 generations to buy the land we work on and keep it in decent order doesn't give anyone with a dog the right to trespass. . But you haven't said anything about gun poachers so does that mean there ok to hunt your land you ???? Poaching poaching weather it with a dog or not that post you just made makes it sound like you hate lads

  12. Haha nice one for trying to twist my words mate? Where have I said anything like "all poachers if seen should have the police called on them" ??? I said nothing of the sort. What I said was, if you are caught trespassing / poaching, you've just got to accept that whoever catches you has the right to tell you to feck off, thats just how life works, you can't get arsey with them, or moan or whine, you've just got to take it on the chin and work on not getting caught next time! Ive been caught poaching and I've caught poachers, when caught myself I've just said sorry mate and gone away as
  13. Just what i was thinking about the akita am sure a good bull cross, would make short work one. No because a 'good' bull x wouldn't be a dog aggressive fanny.

  16. The greatest test for a lurcher has to be living with some of the folk on here. . . . .
  17. Why giving this lad so much shit? Lets face it, whilst there are plenty who poach respectfully, there are a lot more wankers who do a hell of a lot of damage to the dog game. If you poach then you take a chance and have to take the rough with the smooth, why shouldn't people want you to f**k off and hassle you??? Doesn't matter if you've a dog or a gun, if you are where you have no permission you're out on a limb, it can be grand, but you can't bitch and whine like you've some right to be there if someone tells you to bugger off. The worst thing ever is poachers who become har
  18. Ive seen a good few dogs run over the years, and its funny because some of the ones that I have really liked, appreciated etcetc and have been good dogs. . . . wouldn't be for me. Either they wouldn't work for the quarry I hunt, the land or just wouldn't gell with my personality. Its been said a lot over the years, but really the exact breed or x is far less important than getting something out of lines of dogs that are doing exactly what you want your pup to do, to a high level. Having said all of that, of the dogs I've seen, some blood just seems to gell well, for example I have fou
  19. If you're looking for someone in south wales, Wales12345 would be a good lad to get out, or Zerky if he's still on here.
