  5. Cheers 99 but as I said its not through neglecting her early training etc . she was through sheep ever day as a pup . I always put a lot of time and effort into the early stages of a pups life . I suppose they have to make mistakes to learn you have a problem when they never learn . I will let you know how I go on 99
  6. basically what I was trying to get at is the lads with the golly bred reece bred animals find them hard work breaking them to stock no matter how much work you put in to them they get to an age were they seem to think everythings fair game cows horses you name it very head strong
  7. she will get her chance to make amends . I will be working on it this week as long as she realises she made the mistake we will stay friends lol
  8. did the dog see a few in its time
  9. ye know what youre saying bird and agree but some breeds are more prone than others are they not
  10. I will have her out on a long rope and get right through them again and put her straight but its the trust thing now you always feel they have done it once at some stage they will do it again. if I was to drive on I wouldn't do much as its mainly sheep country up here no what you mean though better save than sorry that's why I put a lot in as a youngster . the nature of the beast I suppose
  11. Right lads the inevitable has happened . went for my usual daily walk over the fields bull x in tow she was doing her normal stuff mooching about as we approached the flock of sheep that she has seen and passed walked through since the age of ten weeks with no problem what so ever today was the day the red mist descended and she decided she was having a taste . I always feel its only a matter of time with certain lines of the bulls . pisses you off though when it happens especially when you have purposely put a lot of time and effort in for those reasons . nothing to do with boredom out every
  12. Glad hes started well for you and showing promise prove some of the doubters wrong good luck for the future with him
  13. the point I was trying to make in reply to neil was were you said good dogs make there own luck imo the dog had made its own luck with its persistence and got a break when the hare slowed for the ditch . don't get me wrong I would have liked to have seen the dog take it cleanly but that's coursing
  14. was it not a case of the flint dog pushed and pushed the hare in to making a mistake thus making his own luck just the same as a terrier pushing his quarry round an earth till eventually he pushes it into a stop end drive and determination
  15. love your posts pablo breath of fresh air . look forward to reading them. stuff gets lost in translation at times but I always get there in the end good man
  16. taproom boys still talking about their only dig in last two years but know it all. young'uns will prob have to ask their dad what a taproom is . some shit went down in those taprooms eh!
  17. Neil you will be glad to hear this is my final post on the subject because I'm board of it all and you seem a very blinkered man wrapped up in your own little bubble . I've never understood why people with yappers have this conception that lads who like a game hard terrier is a macho man with a dick problem sureley one man's meat etc etc ( did you like the play on words there Neil )I've never turned round and called a lad with a yapper a pussy cause its the same type of thing is it not , because I have more respect if that's the working style in a dog he has chosen that's all that matters who
  18. mr looney I think youre going a bit over board . I must look at my rule book next time before I enter a terrier mind my p's and q's and make sure I tell my dog to go easy bay at the quarry and under no circumstances get himself hurt hows that
  19. im sorry if ive upset you neil or anybody else out there I was just saying it how it is hadn't realised how politically correct the terrier world was . I should have known better I know its a sensitive issue but I thought I might have been able to give an opinion on a hunting forum ffs .nothing to do with wannabee or novice ive been digging terriers for 36 years and in my world unfortunately that's how we phrase things and before you start don't give me the old chestnut I should know better . I aint come on for an argument so not going to start a tit for tat. I wont be replying no matter how m
  20. It could be the terrier that locks on realises it won't take much stick working the way it does . the loon ball slammer hasn't got nouse to back off a bit or is it just sheer drive that takes him forward just can't help himself no matter how much stick it takes he must kill or be killed lol. If he could talk he would probably call the locker on a pussy for not getting stuck in
  21. Getting back to the said question for arguments sake you could say a dig a month but there are hard dogs with a brain and hard dogs without a brain . Hard dogs with a brain will cease their quarry as soon as they can and lock on till dug too . The hard dog without a brain constantly atacks it's quarry making it fight for its life in the process taking unnecessary punishment . But to me a hard dog makes things happen with its working style they get results were a yip - yapper wouldnt . Before the yip - yapper brigade get on to me nothing against them they do a job in there own working envi
