Two and a bit weeks old now, there's a blemish on the side so seeing how the other one on the vine does, as there's no marks on that one , but it's still small
Plenty of time yet, keep feeding it.
I'm a bit worried about the scar on the left hand side of it , the other on the vine is perfect st the mo , hard as it is im wondering weather to cut the scar one off the vine I'm worried about it getting moldy later on in the season , first for me these giant pumpkins ,

I was thinking of gettingba tortoise just for to keep younin the garden. When i was a kid i had one. In winter kept it in a box in garage while it hibernated. Now i don't understand all this pish about vivarium and heat lamps.
Wish i remember the type it was i had as a kid. No special lamps or fancy housing.
Fairly certain it would have been a Hermans or a Horsefield,if you buy a hermans now it has to have papers with it ,to prove it was captive bred.I think you would struggle to get one to hibernate through the winter now due to the mild temperatures, hence the vivs which create a constant climate, preventing them hibernating(A lot never made it through the winter) I kept both species uptil about 10 yrs ago,and also some Leopard tortoises which get really tame but grow very large, very quickly lol .The biggest problem was keeping them clean, the leopards must have pissed a pint each time and with the heat of the viv it soon smells if not constantly cleaned.I think the last Hermans hatchling I bought was about £160,right little character ,spent all day humping anything it could find lol
We've got a hermans hibernates of its own accord . If I put it in a box it won't settle . Just wanders round the house till it finds a good spot ? . A lot of folk put them in a fridge for three months as the temperature is constant , 3 months is the recommended these days ,

EXCLUSIVE: Jason Osamede Okundaye posted tweets amid violent protests
He said white people 'colonised' Dalston and said it was 'delicious' to watch riots
The Cambridge student wrote: 'ALL white people are racist. White middle class, white working class, white men, white women, white gays, white children'
The student head of Cambridge's equality group has claimed that 'all white people are racist' after praising rioters in Dalston who lit bonfires and hurled petrol bombs at police.
Jason Osamede Okundaye, who runs the Black and Minority Ethnic society at the elite institution, posted the shocking tweets amid violent protests in east London last night over the death of Rashan Charles.
He said that white people had 'colonised' Dalston and ordered them to 'go back' to areas such as Exeter and 'Solihurst' (sic).

The student at Cambridge's Pembroke College also claimed it was 'absolutely delicious' to watch 'middle-class white people despair over black people protesting in their colonised Dalston'.
A spokesman for the University said: 'The College is looking into this matter and will respond appropriately.'
Last last night, demonstrators barricaded part of the area's Kingsland Road - close to where Mr Charles died last week following a struggle with a police officer - with wheelie bins, mattresses and household debris.

The 20-year-old died after he was chased by an officer who attempted to remove an object from his throat, according to an initial probe by the Independent Police Complaints commission.

Does anyone know if they can recover from it and if so how long does it take?
It's not even worth going out round here now.
Yes . Got some ground that's not to bad now , still get 18 at a push

Just went out over a couple of perms checking for rabbits and foraging for mushrooms. bumped into the farmer who said he had seen some dead ones at the bottom of one field, my heart sank a bit as this was good ground. Walked around a few small pockets but pretty dead really, then my mate put one up and it ran round in small circles and fell at our feet. Put it out of its misery with my thumb stick, didn't want to handle it as I'm sure its RHD. Shame as used have some good sport there.
Cheers Arry
