  1. Travel mate, then you can try before you buy, are you sure none of your rfds can get you one in, surely?
  2. Nowt wrong with that lad, looks good, either put an aftermarket trigger, or have a riflesmith fettle when you can afford it, it will make the trigger very nice, cast bullets are merely bullets you cast yourself, in a mold, these have no copper jacket, the yanks are mad keen on cast bullet shooting, and they can be very accurate, save those fired cases for when you start to reload
  3. Well I hope he does get in because if that slimy little c**t Millipede gets in, we really ARE f****d.
  4. Yet another ticking time bomb for future generations to sort out.
  5. He has already shot one or two groups with the moderator removed, and it made no difference, the homeloads he has dont seem too bad, I bet if the rifle was clamped down they would cloverleaf, he has tried Reminton factory ammo, which was worse, it is entirely possible that it hates Remington of course, but it does seem to suggest that the reloads are quite accurate, although I would get another brand of quality ammo to try, knackered rifles dont generally produce cloverleaf groups, as this rifle has done, albeit at 25 yards then again at 75, and then suddenly start to spray everywhere. But sha
  6. There you go mate, problem solved, decent scope that, at the right money
  7. You are covered on evil bay mate, if the scope is no good you open a case against the seller, he either refunds you (they always do so as not to get negative points) or ebay refund you and collect from the seller, so you have nothing to lose, I will say it once more, if you try another scope on it I.E your hmr scope, this will 100% confirm it is your scope, and optics warehouse are showing the 3-9x50 in stock 2 available?
  8. What on earth do you want more magnification than 12x for? And a quality x40 will let in far more light, and be a vastly superior image to some cheapo cheapo 6-24-50 or whatever, buy it mate it is a bargain.
  9. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nikon-Prostaff-4-12-X-40-Matte-Np-/161377700648?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item2592dc4b28 Here you go mate, absolute bargain, rather tempted myself if you dont, go on mate get it bought
  10. Laird Rake as generous as ever, you should have a fantastic time on his land, isnt it a wonderful feeling being able to go where you like without question? I can now walk for miles, safe in the knowledge that the very mention of his Lairdships name will have any pesky farmer asking who I am doffing his cap, and calling me sir, enjoy mate
  11. He needs it our Yorkshire squirrels are hard as nails, I think his Lairdship will be along soon to offer him the choice of several of his holdings in the Yorkshire area
  12. Clearly your rifle is capable of grouping, that can be seen in the 25 and 75 yard groups, when it shoots to point of aim it is cloverleafing, fuc*ed rifles do NOT do that, however no matter how good your rifle, if the scope wont hold zero properly, it wont group, I had a scope a few years back that would do just the same thing, it grouped well for a few shots then for no apparent reason the group would open up/shift, this is what I would do, take the scope off your hmr, put it on your .223, set it up, satisfy yourself that it is the scope at fault, then bin the thing it has on now, and save up
  13. Exactly Paulus, they dont give two fuc*s about animal welfare, as you say their donations keep falling, so anything to put them in the limelight.
  14. There will always be dick heads like your neighbour who feel it is their duty to spoil other peoples fun, especially if that "fun" does not fit in with their fluffy liberal view of the world, he probably displays his outrage that a member of the public be allowed to own "firearms" and use them on his own land, while sitting round eating a nut roast with his Guardian reading friends, can you imagine how upsetting it would be if a local fisherman stumbled near his front door and a pint of maggots went through the letterbox? I mean dinner parties would be off the agenda, the house would be full o
  15. You can destroy virtually any new centrefire day one if you work at it, the fact this is 24 years old is meaningless, he may only have used it for 24 shots, one a year! Very true, but as I have said many times before, I have a keeper friend whos foxing tool of choice is his twenty something (possibly a bit more) year old, now slightly battered Remington .22-250 he has shot hundreds, and I mean hundreds of foxes with it, and it will still shoot under an inch at 150 yards, I would even suggest that a .243 shooting light for calibre bullets, I.E 58/60 grain at very high velocity, with the at
  16. Oh and that cu*t Brian May, all hypothetical of course
  17. http://www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk/showthread.php/76076-Another-17-HMR-incident-HSE-Informed There you go fill ya boots.
  18. Stalking directory mate, I dont know what happened will have a look later and see if he has updated it
  19. Nobody on here, but I would love to batter Cameron,Clegg, and Millipede, and when I finished that traitor Blair.
  20. Why would a .22-250 shooting a bullet at around 4000fps be any more of a barrel burner than an even smaller barrel diameter round I.E .204 shooting a bullet at around, and probably over 4000 fps? Let me say it again, you would have to empty a county of foxes to burn out the barrel on a .22-250, yes paper punching, I am sure it can be done, but foxing and deer stalking, forget it.
  21. Quite a bit of money! Finally got all my bits together for my variation, it goes in this week. Hopefully have a Tika T3 in 25-06 before long..... Either way the Swaro was a good investment. Nice one mate, you will love the .25-06 death ray
  22. And another one added to the list of hmr horror stories reading just last week on SD about a chap who is trying to get health and safety involved after the rear part of the bolt and part of the stock were blown off by just this problem, and a subsequent round being fired, what a pile of crap
  23. So basically you have just reiterated, more or less what he has been told already, what you seem to have failed to take into account, is the fact that his scope mounts (in the words of the op) "are not sitting straight" and keep coming loose, now there may well be other factors involved, but I would venture to suggest that the above might just be having an effect on his rifle's poor grouping, no offence meant
