  1. F@ck me, I've just seen that crypto peerless one for £800+ the kids Xmas is gonna be shitty but the dog will be well fed!!!
  2. Thanks for all your replies, I never thought I would be talking about mincers with you !!! But I believe it is a valuable tool to have and will always feed raw bones as well, as it makes for a happier dog IMO. But back to the main question where and what do I buy? Are the £70 ish ones any good? Or do I go for something a bit more substantial? Thanks again, Sniffer
  3. Hi all, I want to feed my dog more raw meat from what I catch etc. And was wondering about meat grinder's. I've read somewhere about this and grinding bones etc. What machine should I get that's up to the job and of corse i'll be using it for my own food as well. Cheers Sniffer
  4. Bloody hell!!! How long were you out in total? I will never see numbers like that down here. Well done
  5. You don't seem to have had much luck, hope it all comes together soon.
  6. it's great when you get sound advice from on here, hope all goes well.
  7. Rabbit skin on a line is what did with my last dog and it worked a treat, though I did start that off quite early as part of her play time. Bike work is always good if you think her fitness is lacking but you can't beat the real thing (bolting rabbits). Drag lures are great, I built one myself and it works a treat, really gets them moving but still takes time and money where as even if you haven't got a fishing rod you can still cut yourself a length of hazel and use some string and a pelt, cost's nothing, just be careful of the line/string as it can and does get caught up around them and can
  8. Sounds like it will make a great dog, all the best
  9. yes mate made sheaths collars knifes i can turn my hand to most things I'm much the same as you, though have never tried to make knives or collars, hopefully one day i'll make the time to give it o go
  10. Thanks everyone, I thought that I would feel a certain amount of resentment towards her but I am glad to say I am head over heels with her!!! Cheers Sniffer
  11. You seem to be a handy bloke, you knives looked good, the collar is really nice have you made sheaves for your knives as well?
  12. I always have a catapult in my pocket, I can't shoot for sh*t but I enjoy it non the less.
  13. Well I can't thank everyone enough for their kind words and advice after losing Tilly. I had a real hard time trying to work out what I should do but I some pups came up, so I went and had a look with a good mate who knows a lot more than I ever will. It was an even harder decision to make when I got there, was it too soon? Am I rushing into it? So on and so on. I saw both parent's and knew everything was right, just took a couple of hours to take the plunge!!! On more of a moral level I guess? Luckily the owners were really good people who lived for their dogs and were also very understandin
  14. Thanks everyone for your advice and compassion. I manned up today and had a look for a pup, which ended up with me getting one, I didn't think I would or could and nearly didn't. But with her sat by me now, I know it was the right thing to do, seems like a bit of a rush, but the house is too empty and the right mix for me came up an hour away from my home. I don't know her name yet, but she is a right lump and has put a smile on my face! Thanks once again. Sniffer
  15. Thanks so much for your kind post's I had doubt's about putting this up as I thought it would end up with negative post's- you know how it goes around here. We have been blessed to have had the time we did and I will start looking for a new pup.... It's reassuring to know know there some decent people out there. Thank you...
  16. Land on or touch your head?... Land on top of my head, I was leaning over the cab with the rifle and felt a light pair of feet land on my woolly hat as my mate swung the lamp around and off it went- far fetched but true
  17. Had the worst day of my life so far... yesterday. I lost my first and only dog I have ever owned, she taught me so much in the 19 months that I had her and is sorely missed. I always read people posts on here about there losses and I never comment them, partly because I always thought it was a strange thing to do and partly I have never experienced anything like it. My god, I don't know what to do with myself!!! I take my dog everywhere I go, be it work, road trips, the school run for the 3 kids, everywhere. Yesterday I went to work and I always let her run on by the truck and across the fiel
  18. This is gonna sound like bull sh@t but i had a barn owl land on my head whilst squeeking from the top of a land rover, freeked me right out!
  19. Fair play to you mate! I don't think i have ever seen 19 in a field let alone caught 'em!!!
