  1. This is the first time I've looked at this, good to see a set up like it and all things in place, you are obviously a committed individual and I wish you all the very best
  2. A good few years ago before I was allowed my first dog (permission granted to me by HRH my WIFE!) we used to shoot 50+ a night off the back of the truck with shot guns, I used to love it! This was on one local farm, I would be hard pushed now to get that number a season and serves my right too… Since having dogs for myself I call any night with 4 in the bag a good night and if I have seen more than 10 rabbits that night no matter how for away they are it is something of a rarity! So now when the farmer asks "Whats doin'?" I say "Bugger all!" and hopefully in time the numbers may increase… But
  3. Great stuff, hope your year goes well
  4. Great fun little dogs, my 1st x has been a bit of a handful at times and a real eye opener for me as I have said before. She has picked up flushing game really well and catches better and better every time I take her out and spend some proper time on her. She has her faults as do most dogs but most of them are my own doing... She is still young, so with luck and time I hope to make a good little dog out of her.
  5. Yep she is half cross 19 and a half tts, scrawny little thing really but has some steely determination and a great nose. I will be training her over the summer to get used to the gun as she flushes pheasies and woodcock really well.
  6. Well, I had my best ever days ferreting today! Not much to some, but after ferreting for a mere 4 years and never beating dizzy record of 4 rabbits in the bag to get 10 rabbits is completely mind blowing!!! ( You can tell I'm excited!!!) So it was still blowing a hoolie when I loaded the dogs and gear up this morning but carried on regardless as this was going to be the only day I could get out this holiday, picked up my mate Alan and his mutt and headed for Sunny Launceston to some permission down there. We could barely see where we going with the rain coming down so hard, truck blowing a
  7. Its as rough as a Badgers Arse outside and I'm off ferreting hoping, the weather breaks before we pull up at the first set - always the optimist!

  8. Yep, I have and a great little bitch she seems to be too! Flushes to the bigger dog, catches the odd one or two herself and is starting to lamp well. Generally biddable until she is on the trail… then it's a case of waiting til she is ready to stop! But she is young and i'm sure she'll steady up in time. I just need to learn how to get the best of her - regarding what she is working and reading her to see how she behaves on what type of quarry. So more time to spend on her, but I'm really happy so far.
  9. Looks like you guys had a good day! Good bag and good fun, couldn't be better….
  10. Good work gentlemen… A pleasant spot there too!
  11. The tree's in my garden are starting to get a battering, thats my cue to get off the computer and go play!!! South west Blighty!
  12. I have a bioflow for myself, may be just a placebo, but I do notice a difference to how I feel when I remember to keep it on for long enough, though it does seem to make me dehydrated- and I never remember to drink enough water. I can't see why it wouldn't help your dog.
  13. I have clearly been a really good boy, Santa a pair of Meindl boots and a the new Tommy Cullen DVD! Must be doing something right!!!

  14. My 3 kids are in bed asleep, time to eat mince pies and drink chocolate milk on behalf of Santa, carrots and magic flying reindeer food on behalf of Rudolf and his pals, then smuggle in all of the necessary pressies etc. without being noticed.... Special, this time of year isn't it!!!! Merry Christmas everyone!

  16. FUUUCCKKIIINNNGGG HELL!!!! Really? What the F@CK!!!? I am so lucky down here man it is not even funny! I always ring the land owner but have never had anybody interfere/pull me up on what I am doing. Early days I guess and possibly a taste of what might come my way but even so… Well, fair play for the persistence and good bag considering, have you ever bothered ring the local police station and asking them to come and meet you at a certain time so you can just get on unhindered?! I can't get my head around this, is that what it is really like? How many other people get that much bother? That's
  17. Collie cross swims and swims and swims, beddy whip will but only if she has to! - She's a little bit more sensitive!
  18. how does the whip like the sound of the gun? I guess brought up with it? Not so much of a problem?
  19. JEEEZZZUUSS!!!!! Fair play mate, well done to you and the mutt!!!! Make the most of it, numbers like that don't happen for everybody my best night this season is 4!….. F@ck, when is somebody going to dump a load of rabbits on my permission instead of fly tipping house hold crap!!!
  20. I'd love to see her in action, I have been debating about getting myself a bushing mutt in time, just doing the research, while convincing my dearest to let me have another dog! Time is one thing that does not come easy at the moment but in the next couple of years.... She turned out real nice, All the best
  21. What a cracking post!!! I have said it before and probably will again, I am seriously jealous of the sport you get up there!!! I can't wait for the day I make it past 6 bunnies in the bag but it would see I am having to!!!
  22. Really nice there, I have been thinking getting tracking collars myself when my mutts do their disappearing act, might save my throat screaming a bit when they are skulking around just behind me! Is that the Garmin tracker type thing you use?
  23. Where are you letting him run free? If it is a large area with lots going on that is more interesting than you, he isn't going to want to come straight back. Take him to a small enclosed area with nothing on it and take it back to basics. Treats, praise and all things positive, it will only be a temporary phase of your dog pushing some boundaries with you, try not to lose your cool (easier said than done, I know!). The other thing I was told, which I nearly took offence to! Was to be more interesting, jump about screaming at the top of your voice like a complete tw@t waving your arms around to
  24. Sorry about your dogs Stuntman... How did they die? I can't quite work it out by the video, sorry if I'm being insensitive! Just curious...
