There is a similar design used for rabbits  called the Morant Ark. It's named after Major Morant a retired Victorian Army Officer .

He didn't actually invented the ark , just built some to his own  design and promoted a system of outdoor rabbit rearing that also bears his name .

Last time i was over in Canada i went to a convention at North bay Ontario, well looked after by the folks over there, did a bit of stuff myself but legally to touch a trap you need a license , wanting to be legal i went to see about getting a ticket but you have to do a course even to hunt, they said i should have taken my UK hunting license with me and i would have been ok , they didn't beleive me when i said there was no such thing.

Even to tag along for a day's trapping, would be a great experience. Would be nice to make a few sets, but even to see first hand, how it's done, would be memorable.

He sounds a top bloke, where is he based? I met a couple of blokes last year while fishing went out of their way to help me out and show me another river. Hope you get the chance to get over, your the sort who would really enjoy the trip, be lucky.

I find a lot of the guys over there, are really good people. I've been sent mink snares by a lad off that site, free of charge. Wouldn't even let me pay the shipping, and that can be steep as you well may know.

Don is from PA, and those guy's are passionate about their mink trapping. Learnt a lot off that site, and Trapperman.com too.

What’s minktoberfest EDDIE?Americans and Canucks are very accommodating I am staying with two people in September/October during the salmon run.

It's a convention type weekend organised by Don Powell. He has a nice little forum called minktrapping.com. Some great lads on that site. Dedicated to mink trapping, but also plenty of discussion on other types of trapping, hunting, fishing etc. Don sent me a t shirt just out of the kindness of his heart. Just a really nice genuine sort 👍

If y'all are on there just ask , if y'all can get a plane ticket I'm sure there a lot of guys who would invite y'all into their homes and LOVE to have y'all out in their lines

I was invited to minktoberfest a couple of times. Life just got in the way. With a special needs kid, it would be too much of a sacrifice for me personally. With minktoberfest ending soon I've missed that boat, but yea, maybe in the future I might be able to make something else happen.

It's a catch 22 mate. Ashame the mink went onto the allotments taking the racers and not stayed down near waters. But lad who's bailiff on syndicate ponds said they had trouble with mink taking the fish. So had a fella shooting them & the cormorants too. But can't of been doing much because early morning they'd be about a good dozen cormorant on the ponds getting a good fill lol. A watch a Herron jack a cormorant for its catch. Which you'd of thought the cormorant would of give the Herron what for. The numbers of cormorants have built up. A know this because there down on the river side near the shit works early hours perch up in this dead tree. Must be about 30 of the c**ts.

Yea we have tons of cormorants here too. Seems more and more each year. The pine marten are replacing the mink, and can't be touched. They are worse than mink when it comes to the birds.

They'll be plenty a live at back of some allotments and near water ways river & canal mate. Lol. Numbers were down due to mink. But lads have trapped the mink due to them taking their races from round allotments & hens too. Mink few weeks back took a chaps racers over 30 odd years worth of breeding 40 odd birds then went back and took another 20 odd. Ended up getting the family of mink but rat numbers are back now around the area.

I've seen that where mink were heavily trapped on a small stream. The rat numbers exploded, with the lack of predation.

I can't say I'm a believer in big foot....but watching Rogan not long back he was on about big foot....and what was interesting is the Indians and first nations in Canda have names for these creatures...so that kind of makes you think.....also wasn't there some skeletons that were really tall of some native tribe

I think scientists have proven that big foot can't exist today. Bit like Nessie. With regards mythical creatures. Us Irish have one called The Banshee. A lot of people believed in the myth up until the 80's. Some still do. The same mythical creature is known all over the world today. I think the fact that many Indian tribes believed in the same sort of mythical creature, is no big deal. Stories are told, and passed on.

Heck, sure the greatest one of all about the big man in the sky, was spread across the whole planet, by word of mouth.
