  15. Skycat in your opinion would this cross make a good novices dog ? Bearing in mind a lot of beginners would be keen a lot would probably enter it too early and run it on anything and everything across a whole spectrum of land types taking into account the dogs size and stature there's not much scope for error would that be the ideal dog ? For me they need careful entering and someone who knows what there after! appreciate your response Paul
  16. After having lurchers all me life decided on a beddyxwhippet for me new hunting companion (2 year old now) lovely little bitch now but quite difficult in 1st year still needs good handling now to keep her from hunting on ect also with this cross you've got to know there limits there a dog for people that have specific requirements in my opinion no good as an allrounder imo no good taking them on big open land and the like some will disagree but for me their a good dog if u know what u want but not a beginner's dog for me
  17. A wouldn't start off with a beddy x mate I've got 1 now lovely bitch I've had lurchers. For years and. This is me 1st beddy based lurcher very challenging to start with but fantastic now wouldn't. Be a beginner's dog though a good colliexwhippetxgrey would be idea a would say more laid back and with the collie should be ok to train any with whatever u decide
  18. who's on about bulldogs like u tit if u cant hold a sensible debate grow up n do 1
  19. as said for me the hare deserves more respect than being run down on stamina of a 5/6 mins or longer course by dogs not produced in this country for the job personally think t should be brittish dogs ie greyhound /whippets and there crosses of brittish heritage like deerhound n collie over a fast and fair run for me running a 6 or more minute course over big open ground with no cover is nowt to be proud of anyone agree ! p.s i have no problem with saluki's in there own domain but not for our country

  21. A think the prob with a lot of young ppl getting dogs now is they get everything so quickly nowadays don't have to wait for out with next day delivery's and internet so having to wait between 8 and 14 months depending on type to start a dog off seems too long for them plus they want what's in at the time cross wise so it goes on !
  22. Sounds to me your bored with the 1s u have n will probs end up getting another lurcher pup in A few months seen this type of thing on here loads normally ppl wanting the next best cross to have wats in vogue at the min sounds very similar to me !
  23. A think getting yourself a ferret first n starting that way is the best option as its a more controlled quieter way of going about things farmers need to trust your respectable of his lad 1st not have a stranger and a dog running all over his farm to start things off atb
