Iv'e been told by a few people that shreded paper bedding is superb for the kennel. Iv'e now put paper bedding in and the first thing my lurcher bitch does is piss!! Anyway Iv'e left her in there now and she seems to have sussed it's for lying down on! Anyway reason I'm here is shredded paper a good idea or should I be using something diffrent?? Cheers Math

Well My bitch is a 1/4 collie 1/4 grey 1/2 whippet and I don't think she's anywhere near to heavy she's 21 inch to the shoulder and 33lb's if thats to heavy then damn I feel sorry for a dog any smaller running rough land all day and night!! You must of met a fat collie whippet!!

I am very intrested in the wheaton cross grey and might think about getting a pup in the near future. What I was wondering is are these good allround dogs for rabbits and a bit of charlie or are the to heavy for the bunnies? Do anyone of you work this cross and if so how do you rate them as an allround lamper?? also what would be the best cross a 1/2 or 3/4 grey or maybe a mix of other breeds?? all views welcome!! Any pics would be great. Thanks Math

:welcome: To the site. Your dog is a spitting image of my mates Bryn! He's from the welsh valleys! I think the Rhondda. He is only 12 months old but Id swear they where the same dog. Bryn likes to play with the other dogs and runs around like a maniac nippin and so on but its only playing mate. He's never hurt another dog and hes come accross many a small terrier and so on. He wouldnt hurt them. If your woried about it don't let him off the lead in local parks and so on where there might be small dogs and so on. I doubt you'd come accross a poodle in a hunting situation

From what Iv'e seen and heared wheaton X greyhounds are extremely good allrounders! if yours in only 22" it should take rabbits for fun! it'l definitley have the speed. A bonus is you shouldnt have any problem with charlie!! Best of luck any way!!

GOOD NEWS I gave my bitch two droppers last night she caught both and didn't open up I'm over the moon to say the least thanks for all your advice! I'm going to stick with the droppers till september one every week or other. Then sqatters in the new season. Ohhh yeh and Id like to say to all those people who told me to get shot of the dog!! why dont you tie yourselves to the bench while I go to my gun cabinet!! Thanks again for all the advice from the genuine lurcher men out there!!!
