    Nigger was one of my favourites Joe,a dog with great drive who never threw the towel in no matter how hard a shift he was putting in .a pacy dog and like you say not the biggest dog you'd ever see? I just hope these dogs don't or haven't become "fashion icon's" ,these dogs as you know back in the day were owned and ran by dog lads who were prepared to risk all in pursuit of game,run the gauntlet to put these dogs on big numbers of gear ..great days and even better nights .Hope all's well in your world Joe?     Hi Joe & S/H it's Andy here,they really are smart youngsters you have on your hands there fingers crossed they make the grade for you come next season ,i'm not sure if you can remember a dog of almost identical looks Joe that Shaun had for a while many years ago which he named Rambo like your old dog? It was out of Blue and a Grey? Has it happens it never made the grade and went to pastures new but it was almost exactly the same stamp and colour of your pup.     Many thanks for the invite AGAIN Tomo,we really do appreciate it and it's also nice to watch and run the pups bred out of our two old un's,i've been in this game for a long time probably too long some would say lol and imo i think these pups are up there with the best of what i've seen at this stage of their careers,YES it's early days but fingers crossed we could have some handy pot fillers all being well over the coming years? On the journey down last night the outside temperature shown in the car ranged from 4c to -1.5c so it was never going to be the greatest of nights but the pups missed

    Cheers for the invite Tomo it's much appreciated ,we enjoyed the craic along with the laughs just as much as watching the dogs run ,it was nice to see the two young un's going through their paces,Venus very quick and precise with her cobra like strike and Don with being over 1/2 Collie not as quick but his desire to catch even in dense undergrowth,broken walls,fallen trees etc still making it enjoyable to watch. Bigger and better nights certainly lay ahead for these two but you've got to start somewhere lol.Our dog Don needs to up his striking ability but i'm sure it'll improve as he get'

    some off the fields over here would really test a dog out , my Alfie dog as stayed behind stuff longer than 4 minutes and he is only got 9/16s running dog (greyhound/whippet) in him the rest being bull/wheaton and bedlington .. and thats going over fences and through hedges and after he as done that id expect him to run again soon as he is back ..... dont know what shite dogs you have been watching rain What??? WHAETON AND BULL, and did it catch.... some of the best dogs the country has bred struggle after 4 minutes pal and they are real coursing dogs, not bitza's....watc

    This dog's dam is a full Collie and it's sire is a tad over 1/4 so exact fraction's of that i'm not so sure ,anyway's he's in his 1st season,doing things as they should just steady away at the moment,very atheltic,retrieves even over fences,gates has done well when ferreting,obedient and in over 30 years of keeping running dogs this chap has the drive and determination equal of any of them..next season will be the making of this dog...watch this space

    to many f*****g pretenders on here mate your assumptions to them sums them up imo? Fairplay young un for making the effort to get out there,the majority will of either been on here or watching Corrie when you were out with your dog,keep on doing what you do,you'll reap the rewards in the end

    Took the dog out a night or two back and he picked these up without too much fuss,missed quite a few through him being very keen,once he settles into things i'm sure he'll come up with the goods? Don with a handful of bunnies

    Yeah,they were actually bred over there and the bitch is indeed litter sister to Don,the black dog i posted a picture of which i own although long retired now as he's 13 years of age gone June is their sire and the Collie picture i put up is their dam,i have heard that the black bitch is doing exceptionally well,fingers crossed Don doesn't let the team down over this side of the water We'll see

    walter mitty would be proud of this , theres more sience fiction but entertaining Just because you ain't done it don't mean it can't be done ..i don't know leec from Adam but i've had dogs of atleast equal capeabilities apart from the foxes scores ..you want to get off the internet and get out and put in the graft with your dogs...they just might surprise you?

    Thanks Skycat,compared to many even my other dogs he is rather unsightly lol but as long as he earns his corn that'll do for me,he has been a "type" i've been looking at owning since i had similar several years ago,they too weren't the best of lookers but they could fill the bag and then some ..he's from a long line of Minshaw bred's back to a Border Collie from Ireland who is used daily for working cattle although when he and his littermates were just seven weeks old the dam won the County Wicklow Sheepdog Trials so he is from decent stock...he has one or two little problems what need ironed

    Well said mate..the top and bottom of it is that rest is as important as the work load given to a dog whether that be when tuning the dog up or when it's fully fit..i've seen many a dog run flat as a pancake when it's supposedly super fit..without a doubt it had gone over the top,getting a dog fit isn't hard,keeping it at it's peak over a longer period of time ie: several months is the true sign of a good "conditioner"
