  1. This is what I caught on mine last night in my garden,I've been catching a few lately with a Victor snap trap.
  2. @The onehave you set up your trail camera yet?
  3. Good thread going on here about budget trail cams.
  4. I bought some new digital camera batteries, here's a few pictures of the completed tub to give you an idea.....
  5. I always remember my late Dad showing me as a young lad how to set this type of trap and then handing it to me to set down,oh how he use to laugh when it would trip as I placed it down?
  6. Thank you @OldPhil theres a certain satisfying feeling when you get one just right in the trap.
  7. For the batteries I would use.. Energizer AA Batteries Ultimate Lithium As for the TF card I think the max is a 32GB micro Sd,I got one off eBay for £5,just remember to format it before first use.
  8. co-op own brand crunchy peanut butter.Ive got roshield rat&mouse bait and roshield caramel attractant and the crunchy peanut butter over wins every time. Ive got roshield trap boxes as well but find the victor trap is much better, mind you as you know rats are very cautious of any new item in their routes. This particular trap has been in place for well over a week.
  9. Yes they do the job, nice when you catch a finger or thumb also
  10. Not saying this is the recycling box rat,but old victor caught this today?
  11. Here's one from today, caught in my garden.
  12. returned to seller, didn't refund me,got eBay to step in and had full refund within 24 hours. A strange thing happened today..the first original trail cam I bought but returned because it stopped working but the seller wouldn't refund me so I got eBay to step in and was fully refunded within 24hours. The seller returned it to me with a label on saying he was not accepting the parcel even though Id been refunded? No good to me...its broken,so I kept all the accessories(pc lead, card reader, and mounting strap)and binned it...did give it another try beforehand, but still broken.
  13. I certainly am thanks on a regular basis, its sooo warm.
  14. Well camera arrived,it did fit inside tub,I started taking some photos at different stages of doing the tub..but my cameras batteries gave in..so no photos sorry. I finished the tub and Im very happy with the outcome,an empty diet coke can perfectly fits behind the camera to keep it in place snugly. Being placed inside this tub should hopefully offer it more protection from the elements.
  15. Congratulations @socks you now have mits and socks!! Topman is @Stavross
  16. just got this off another thread on her, same idea?.
  17. I even tried to dry it out in the tubful of rice trick,it did soak up the condensation on the camera lens and pirs but didn't fix it. with the next one im going to adjust it like the last without time/date stamp but going to cut it down to 4 photos and 20 secs of video,on the last one i adjusted it 5 photos and 30 secs of video, the default is 3 photos and 10 secs of video. If the camera fits inside the tub when it returns I shall put some photos up of the tub from start to finish to give you an idea.
  18. well after using it 3 times it packed in and stopped taking photos and videos and would not even identify the SD card. I tried new batteries,a different sd card but nothing worked. returned to seller, didn't refund me,got eBay to step in and had full refund within 24 hours. I dont think it agreed with storm Eunice some water got inside, did try to dry it out for a few days but didn't work. just ordered another same model off different seller but this time i have a plan......I've got a waterproof round(cylinder) shape Tupperware container, going to cut away just enough for cam
  19. Oh yes please, put my name forward once again @Stavross those would come in HANDy. You're a very generous chap.
  20. . Yes all the family are enjoying the photos and videos, funny thing is my wife called it another one of my useless unused toys! Well now she can't wait to have a look what it has caught? As far as watching videos on my android tablet I have now downloaded a media app called VLC it has a red traffic cone for its icon and works great with the trail cam. For the money I'm very pleased and even managed to buy a 32gb micro SD card off eBay for a fiver. Its surprising what wildlife comes into your garden, wish I bought one earlier.
  21. Really, when mine arrives, I have some rechargeable batteries, I'll give them a try.I'm only going by what I've read on the net?
  22. Worth a try,let us know your outcome? No doggers will be safe now.
