    you missed out on meeting with a great bloke who knew what he was on about ,and you missed out on one of the most thrilling types of wildfowling there is! I was lucky to meet John and we had a few laughs and as Harry said he does not suffer fools , I am pleased to say that John gave the opertunity to partake in a sport that I had read about and wanted to do for over half a century! he still has an ad in wildfowling on here for a wildfowling partner, but he's not been on here since 2014 , DD

    Have you got any pics of the sticks you make ??? ........ I'd like a look too if you got any pics I'm not very good at pictures on here and iv'e given the last ones i made away i make when the mood takes me ,as Taz says you can get fed up doing em all the time ,I've been cutting blackthorn shanks over the last fortnight and I must have about 50+ dried and drying so they will keep me busy for a while LOL.

    they are not rare !48000 breeding pairs resident in the UK and nearly 1.5 million visiting bird arive in the uk each year ! compare that with 360 tousand pinkfooted geese ..

    iv'e seen quite a few submersable pumps on construction sites and they are lowered into the hole with a power supply and a hose ,they seem to very in the size of the hose and the power supply ,have a google I bet there's alot of second hand stuff out there ! atb D.D. just seen the date any way i hope the op as got sorted..................

    found all three this week blue stalks,(blue legs) wood blewits and ,also got some orange funnel caps . stuck a load in the frezer so they can go in a stew later .

    Topper I did the old fence in engine oil it looked as black as an old crow lol the missus didn't like it thats why I want it clear I could get some old hydro oil thats been replaced for new ,there's bound to be some of that knocking about at work i'll try a bit on a bit thats out of sight . atb Tony
