  1. They are amazing! The reflection in the last one is stunning!
  2. One thing I've learnt is to always have the camera with me. The one day I don't have it... I'll see something amazing!
  3. I've seen plenty of Red Grouse (Lagopus lagopus) around, but today was the first time I've seen a Black Grouse(Tetrao tetrix). It's not the clearest photo as I couldn't get any closer to it. It was taken on the moor road between Langholm and Newcastleton. It was quite random as my other half and I had been talking about the fact that we'd never seen one... and there it was.
  4. Oh they are gorgeous! I love the first one! What a face! You have a very cool job! :D
  5. I've got a contact on flickr that uses a Canon 1000D, the new "entry level" camera, and while it doesn't have the bells and whistles of the more expensive cameras, she still takes some of the most amazing photos I've ever seen. I was told by a pro photographer mate, to spend as much as you can on a good lens, as cameras will come and go, but if you're carefull with them, a lens can last a lifetime. Hence why I got my other half to rob a bank* and help me buy a 70-200mm ef f4 L IS USM lens. Though it's probably wasted on me.
  6. Wow! That's amazing! Was that hand held or with a tripod? (if that's not a daft question to ask)
  7. I'm at Newton Rigg at the mo and Penrith isn't bad for a night out either... Hope your interview goes well.
  8. Hi, My name is Helen and I'm from Cumbria. I don't know how I've not found this forum way before now! My main interests are really beagling and following foxhounds. Though I do enjoy shooting (be it mainly pest control). Anyway. Best Wishes to you all. Helen
