  1. Not sure mate. The Blue whale will be new I'd think. Probably a Diplodocus when you went? I'd be very surprised if nothing had changed significantly in a decade.
  2. The main entrance hall is an amazing place, with the Darwin statue and bust of the famous hunter Frederick Selous, the Mammoth skeleton etc. But most of all just the architecture. It's such a grand entrance. With the landings and the 360 degree 1st floor landing there are so many angles to view the blue whale. One day I'd like to attend a formal lecture and evening 'do' there. It's a grand place and I'd like to experience a truly grand event.
  3. On here it only lists data for Viht N160 for 70gr .243win. Have you read N140 elsewhere or something?
  4. Here’s an example. Currently it’s facial recognition, soon it’ll be behaviour recognition, they won’t even need to see your face! before long the sensors will step from being simply visible light and monitor a whole host of other signals. There’s some interesting work being done in to brain responses to different stimuli, essentially the early stages of mind reading.
  5. Truth is, no one gives a shit about liberty anymore. No one believes in tyranny. I remember when it came out that security services were recording our data and everyone simply said “oh well it’s impossible for them to go through it all”. Frankly I was probably one of them! Ill say one thing and it should scare the piss out of everyone that understands it...... Machine Learning! It’s here now, it’s getting better, everyone is using it and it’ll make processing infinite amounts of data doable.
  6. Fella, I believe we should have a constitutional right to bare arms, never mind CF on first application! You’re preaching to the choir.
  7. Bit reluctant to let this terrier go in unknown country with holes potentially about the place. I'd be quite happy firing him into a boar otherwise. Let's see how things develop...
  8. Probably rules out my dog then. Don't suppose you'll be short of mad c**ts with knives, so I'll praps be of no use. Unless you want to bowhunt them....
  9. Just tip a heap of terriers in and run towards the sound of carnage! What's the situation with subterranean vermin? Might be problematic for terriers. If this has legs I'll be listening for details....
  10. Not strictly taxidermy, but it’s natural history which imo goes hand in hand. I f***ing love the Natural History Museum.
  11. Again, by all means ask for your CF now, but Notts will say no and to apply after you have had your rimmy for a little while. You'd have to have an extremely compelling case for them to grant CF on first application.
  12. Mate, that's smart. I think you have found your knife making style...
  13. This is the lion relocation to Mozambique I mentioned. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/2019/05/mozambique-spirit-lion-relocation/ Hunting conservation! Largest lion reintroduction ever, not funded by plastic conservationists on social media or even photo safari tourism!
  14. I also read that they are training one bitch hound, Ruby, to find the orphaned rhino calves after a mother has been killed, so they can save it and rehabilitate it for release as an adult. It's really good stuff, proper conservation.
  15. I remember reading about one of the early live ops with these hounds and they opted for softer hounds because they weren’t sure if those they were hunting were women or youngsters and consequently turned out to be adult men who killed a few hounds. I think the aggression is absolutely essential. Also pretty sure poachers have shite weapons so it mitigates a little how deadly to the hounds they might be.
  16. Ivan is quite an inspiration for me. His profile is really worth checking out. He’s also involved with a pretty big lion relocation programme, which I think is one of the largest in history.
  17. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/2019/09/texan-hounds-fight-rhino-poaching/ I've been following this project via Ivan Carter's posts since it's inception.
  18. It very common these days for folks to get a family pet cocker and do pretty much just what you want with it. That drive and hunt style will come into it's own for sweeping an area for a bird that has not been marked well. They're quite happy to sit in a hide with you. Of course a lab was made for this sort of stuff but think the compact size of a cocker has an awful lot of benefits and not many drawbacks.
  19. Agree about the stuffed dog. I’d have a human skull though
  20. A cocker will fit you just fine mate. Particularly the family aspect.
