Speaking as someone who is the exact opposite of an alcoholic, I think people generally focus on the bad side of drink when talking about it. IMO I genuinely think our 'drinking culture' is a central pillar of British society. For that reason it just can't be considered similar to any other recreational drug.

No Escape Body of Lies

Agreed. I think Scotland's argument is weaker than N.Ireland's but stronger than it was last week. Simply because Scotland had their "once in a generation" go at it knowing full well that we were potentially leaving the EU a couple years later. The political shift in N.Ireland is ground breaking. The strategy really will be to delay such referendums until Brexit has settled. Hopefully allaying the concerns of many of the more marginal nationalist voters back towards the Union.

It's looking shaky though mate. For the first time you have a nationalist majority and the border question remains the most contentious issue in Brexit. I genuinely hope you remain in the Union but if the people of Northern Ireland want out then they have a right as much as anyone.
-
Now they have their majority, see what excuses they find to delay it further. If nothing else, thank f**k we have binned off proper socialism for another generation and fieldsports are safer this morning. Unfortunately, we might lose Northern Ireland as a result...

This is the first time they have a workable majority (re hunting) since the ban and it's the first time they have refused to promise a free vote on it. Yes they a slippery c**ts but they didn't f**k us on the ban. Frankly it's best left consigned to history.

I remember finding an adult swan dead on a green lane and I wracked my brains for what caused it...... until I looked up and it was directly below power lines! Apparently not uncommon.

A Tesla merced 'em. Sneaky f***ing electric cars.

I don't know what the law is now but 5-10 years ago the EU passed some game hygiene legislation that meant anyone selling game needed to have done a course and be registered with some authority. There was however an exemption for those selling game in fur or feather (not processed beyond simply paunching/gralloching) to the end consumer. I believe a restaurant was classed as the end consumer but a game dealer was not. No idea if it's been tightened to do away with that exemption.

I think that being a countryman means you have to roll with the punches and cycles of nature. I'm from similar area as micky, tomo and sid g and I remember fondly ferreting 10-15 years ago. I had f**k all money but a couple of ferrets, some home made nets and a few mates and we had some sport. Heaps of rabbits to go at in hindsight! The railway lines were breeding hotspots! Moved away from rabbiting just as it started to go down hill but I often talk to a couple of mates about how it'd be great to get back into it again, casually like. It just ain't worth it though. I'm glad I e

They the ones that set fire to one of their rape victims as she was on the way to court? Absolute f***ing animals.

Brexit Party have gone tactical and backed out of Tory strongholds.

Given that they are designed for more than just working holes are they more biddable than fells? Not the odd one, I mean as a general breed trait.

It might've been Benghazi, but I'm sure it was Hull.
-
The only place that comes to my mind while on the subject of toilets is Hull. I drove through earlier this year and it left an impression. Partly because I made a guest appearance on a militant type anti-fracking FB group that day, which confused me a bit because a serious environmental disaster would radically improve the place! disclaimer: fracking would not cause this, neither was any fracking going on...

I'm within one standard deviation of average which statistically makes me very normal. Case in point I can cross kingston in 18 minutes and 42 seconds! Without using my magic powers!

Or very small.... like a leprechaun.

I've had foxes run on after being clipped by #4 at relatively close range, never had one run on when clipped by BB. Owt will kill em when it all goes right. It's when it doesn't you want the right load and imo that is BB through a half choke.

Woodcock-nice to see them back

fantastic stuff mate. Do you think it's going to be a good year for them? I got out early doors this morning for a much needed mooch about (gunless) in the forest and the cocker flushed the first I've seen this year. Magical birds! -
yeah they be the clueless ones. Matey from Sunderland knows the crack. What max hasn’t said is that those census numbers have huge error bars due to the nature of trying to count how many of anything exists in the continent of Africa! That said I think it’s pretty indisputable that much of Africa’s megafauna has seen scary downward trends in the last century. Driven largely by illicit wildlife trade and the constant expansion of human civilisation/agriculture. Fortunately hunting is providing revenue to protect wild habitat (65% of Africa’s wildlife parks) and the value the lion h

Thing is I love sitting down with vegans or casual antis and having a respectful exchange of views. I’m quite happy for someone to duke it out with me, even another hunter. Ethics are very important! There’s plenty of valid points to go over and angles that I had not considered. I’ve just got no time for out and out ignorance.

One concern I do have regarding lions though is how many that are part of some sort of wildlife utilisation were bred in captivity. I think we have to be careful to conserve wild ecosystems, not just select species. If we found ourselves in a situation where a species existence was pretty much dependent on farming them then I’d say they are essentially extinct. But like with the topic of ‘fenced’ reserves, breeding in captivity to repopulate can be a very broad subject, covering an awful lot of different practices.

I know, lol.

f**k all to do with loyalty. Everything to do with an objective view of the facts having a passion for hunting and natural history. I’m totally open to having my mind changed on hunting practices and will be the first to acknowledge the failings and instance where practice needs to adapt to the evidence. You however have admitted that your mind can never be changed. So who’s blind?
