  1. To be expected from such lowbrow regions.
  2. As I scrolled down to this post and saw the perm I honestly thought you were reminding me to include the destroyer of the North the Argies and Socialism, our very own Iron Lady!
  3. The father of modern Physics, nay science! Sir Isaac Newton... The father of modern Biology, Charles Darwin... The greatest play-writer, William Shakespeare... ...allllll born in the middle! And if that wasn't enough then I'll just pull our top trump the mighty Robin Hood! CHECK and MATE!
  4. This is actually really useful information and makes me want to go even more. But anyway, bikinis..... CLICK!
  5. Give me till august and I'll gather some myself..... for research and documentation purposes!
  6. Anyone been to Pedn Vounder beach, Penzance? Since I've seen a video of it I have to go! I drove all the way last summer on a bit of a road trip but the weather was utterly gash and I want my first time there to be in the sun, lol.
  7. I’ll take a rocky cove over a beach
  8. I completely agree. I hate lincs!
  9. Far be it from me to stick my nose in but if I got another lurcher and wanted to bring it along shooting I reckon I'd want it broke to all game birds. Let the big dog concentrate on the quarry it's made for and not charge about mugging off birds, if ya get me? A bull cross knocking about the line with the spaniels, that's totally broke to feather, on the right kind of shoot, could make for the occasional bit of sport. Just a thought.
  10. Leopard seals are one of my favourite animals, but no it wasn't, just a regular English common seal.
  11. I was feeding one sand eels once off the rocks and when I ran out of sand eels the b*****d tried for my hand! I'll be armed so I'm not too fussed. See what happens naturally, I'm not going to force myself on them. (I can already hear the vulgar innuendo you lot are thinking up) LOL
  12. Yeah I've read about night dives, not sure I'm ready for that! If I heard whales (probably humpbacks) singing then I'd be absolutely made up. Hope to bump into some seals one day too.
  13. You can have Birmingham then and leave the East Mids south of the border! Can I suggest letting the sea reclaim East Anglia while we're at it?
  14. I've just come back from a weekend down there, I just love it. Got some spear fishing kit arriving this week and already planning which coves I'm going to trek to and maybe spend the odd night at in the summer. The quality of sport down there is top class for most fieldsports. The coast is second to none, the weather is better. And the people don't have a chip on their shoulder with the other half of the country! I don't mind the North at all, some belting places, but I'd be a liar if I pretended to not favour the South.
  15. Which way would the Midlands go? Well I prefer the South West over anywhere else I've been on this island so this Midlander would choose the South. And for all the shit folks talk about London it's probably our best city for a tourist.
  16. Only seen homeless on the streets of NYC in the US. But I’ve seen a woman, I assumed to be a refugee, on the streets of Paris with a newborn (few months old, not minutes)! Bang in the middle with tourists and Parisians all over, not out the way like. Like it was normal... I’m no saint or hero, I did nothing about it, but that’ll stick with me for many years.
  17. I honestly don’t know what he got himself in such a state about!? He was living the dream! Id not have left!!!
  18. Tbh the first thing that comes to mind is being castaway for a month or so on a tropical island with reefs to spearfish, feral goats to bow hunt, a tarp shelter to watch the thunder storms and unspoilt night sky. Absolute solitude and freedom...
  19. I'm wondering about getting a big one, cutting it in half and giving it a ply base and then cutting a pop hole through it. The ply base could be hinged to allow for easy opening and obviously the roof would be flat for the dog to lay on in warmer weather (top or bottom of the actual barrel). Be ideal for the spaniels and terriers I'm keeping at the mo maybe perhaps need whole barrel though for lab and lurcher sized dogs....
