  1. hi all, went to check my 10/22's zero today as i strip cleaned it yesterday, as usual as soon as i got to my persission to see whats about and if anyone is about who shouldnt be before i start shooting. i walked up a hedge row and took a look through the gate way and there sat in the filed were a pair of caddy crows. i rested on the big oak i was stood next to and shot one of them, unsuprisingly the second bird didn't hang about! at 83 yards (paceed) and standing whilst resting on a tree i was happy with that shot, i turned out after zeroing that i was an inch low at 75 yards so it was a go
  2. i have that set, the laser goes WAY beyond 200 meters! the tourch on it is useless unless u want it for gutting rabbits by. the laser is very good for taking quick shots at any vermin one you have got it zeroed up and know where it shoots. i would get a proper lamp and i think you can buy the lazer sepertley and i can recomend that
  3. good shooting there mate, well done
  4. well done there, nice little bag. i also have a set of x3m1 sticks, but the tripod version, try them in long grass or something simular, there are brilliant there. first time out i shot 19 in corn with them. also i see you are shooting a 10/22 same a me, brilliant little guns
  5. think i am but im not shooting there. i hate the clay setups, the refs dont know what they are doing and half the traps brake down. if i were you i would stick to the local clay club, as long as it is reliable. sounder, why use 3/4 and full for DTL? i can shoot it with my skeet chokes and i dont know any one who uses more than 3/4 and that is for their second barrel. i also know a lot of people who shoot the other trap diciplines; OT, UT, DT, DR and so on, but i dont know anyone who uses more than 3/4 in their seoncd barrle there and most of those targets and faster and further away than
  6. why not buy 2 bipods and use them to make a quadpod thing, i also saw that artical and the grouping with them was impresive. good luck if you make your own, will look forwad to seeing the pics
  7. Would you know Del and Gareth (Wales) whats their sir names, cant think of them no. but when they put up the entrys they use sir names & initials. do they shoot for wales then?
  8. just wondering if any one where shoot OSK because i do and there aint many people who shoot it so if any one does shoot it we will more than likely know each other.

  10. have fun with it. also a nice rifle. i also prefer the heavy barrles as they allow you to hold steadier.
  11. i was doing it for free before, but now i may have to ask for a contribution towards time and cost when i get called out! lol
  12. iv only seen them on rivers and around lakes. must depend on the area and what food sources are available where
  13. yeah, wouldnt be a bad life would it, from that job i was also offered therir hedge cutting, £100 a day!
  14. Thanks for your reply wild dog I have done a bit of clay pigeon over the years with , what can i say , reasonable results. But like the majority of people on this site , i enjoy going out out with my rimmy or shotgun to do some vermin control. What i'm trying to say is , i find that trying to hit a pigeon in full flight seems completely different than hitting a clay , and i was just asking for some tips on how to improve , John yes clays are differnet to pigeons. there are the same basics though, BST; balance, stance & posture. you need to have your weight slight bia
  15. one of the houses my mum cleans at has got a magpie nest in it, my mum mentioned that the magpies could be 'taken care of' if the owners wanted the gone and they were all to keen to get rid of them as they had killed to broods of black birds in theris garden. so this morning i wonderd up the road with my air rifle to see if i could get them. it was a 10 min job as i killed both adult birds with in 7 mins i think it was, then poked the nest out of the tree, killed the young ones the put the lot of their fire site. i thought i was going to be doing it for free as i normaly would but i was given
  16. lol, lucky he hit it then. what calibers do you use on them?
  17. well done, there. you should go back and look for more though. where there is 1 squirrle, there are usualy more. good luck
  18. 12's are cheaper on cartridges though, and they have more range. saying that though, i have seen some awsome birds killed with the 20. but i would personally go for a 12
  19. my 10/22 is a rimfire magic custom. it is as quite as my mates cz, it is not noisey. and look how well it shoots this group was shot at 75 yards, my zero range, laid down in a field using a bipod quater inch center - center. i can highly recommend one. edit: it is a 3 shot group, 2 shots are through the top hole
  20. hi, well done on getting your FAC, the CZ's are as good as anything from what i have heard, but if you realy want a rabbit killing machine then get a ruger 10/22. brilliant gun. people say the jam but mine never has. as for ammo i shoot winchest subsonics as the shoot well, are reasonably priced and kill well. good luck and it will be intresting to see what other people suggest. post up what you get and some piccies.
  21. ferrals are great sport, & if you miss them they normaly fly round and give you another chance! how did you sort out you 'disturbence'? apart from that it sounded like a fun day, if you want to decoy them later in the year then get a rotar on them, it is amazing, much better than on woodies! good luck with you next trip
  22. thanks, looks about right, but would they be in the middle of a wood? i know that they are about a mile away because i have been there trapping them with the local game keeper
