Hi lads and lasses quick question for use any input much appreciated.

I have a 15 month old springer he's mad to hunt will retrieve a tennis ball no bother won't lift a dummy ,tried him on cold game he runs to it then plucks feathers off it , shot a pigeon for him he done the same thing .I'm just wondering is there any way of getting him out of this or is he just a hard mouthed dog ?

Force Fetch training should do the trick. Done correctly, he'll be a " Hell or Highwater" retriever.

A nest on the same shelf in my shed for the 4th year running .

I guess there is a reasonable chance that it's  the same blackbird every time or one of her offspring  .

Apart from wedging the door open l carry on using the shed as normal and she doesn't take the blind bit of notice of me crashing about .20230526_074156.jpg.63dd8fd5cc5fc3b853f2a670a3ef098a.jpg20230526_074417.jpg.82b6dd485f23e483df80bc1715108278.jpg

Russians are a people so different to us in many ways with regards to mindset.

Our kid served with them in the legion and the stories he has about them are frightening. It's often the vodka that does for them, it's part of their identity. They would group together and if you upset one you upset them all, then they would get drunk and stab each other over the smallest argument. If they were stressed they had to be kept away from machines that ran on petrol because they would drink it as they worked.

We had a bloke in the village who had a chicken catching business, he employed eastern Europeans , he took on a Russian team leader so eventually all the staff were Russians and I believe Latvians. They lived in local house here. They were nice lads, but edgy, nobody would mess with them though. Interestingly they displaced some travellers who were setting up in the area. Even the gypsies knew not to cross them and after a few slight disagreements they got out of dodge. Eventually they all moved on when the English boss man retired, I expected a few to settle but they didn't. Like I say they were no real issues to the locals and in many ways handy to have around. Sometimes they got smashed on vodka and would fight or do something insane but the next day it was forgotten and they would shake hands with anyone they had upset.

We have a half ways decent sized Russian community here in Michigan. They are no trouble at all.

Could you imaging us sending over a load of Sam Smith influenced fighting men backed by the USA and the black lives matter movement  napoleon I believe was the first person to cast eyes on Russia in a deluded hope of bringing them into a eu super state followed by Adolfo Hitler funded and backed by the good old USA and ourselves of course but they have all failed so now we are going about it from another angle, but if anyone believes the outcome will be any different this time they are totally deluded

What the heck are you talking about here? Nobody in the west is talking about invading Russia. If Ukraine did so in a meaningful way. Western support would stop quickly. No new equipment or ordnance, and no maintenance for equipment they already have. That would please some of you guys here.

Keeping up to date with CNN there mate good work

Is that what they are saying? lol

Russia does have tremendous resources and land. Their demographic is poor but it's secure borders they lack. That's why I think they'll outlast Ukraine. But in the end, they'll either have to deal with un securable borders with NATO countries. Or fight NATO. Which would be a very poor choice for all involved.

Very sad alround as for the women most were getting raped can't blame them for fleeing, so sad about the kids..

Most were getting raped? Everybody knows the Ukrainians are not saints. Turns out they are amazingly competent soldiers. But I don't think they are a bunch of rapists. This sounds like more Russian BOT propaganda to me.

Russia will be done within a year , china are beholden on feeding a billion people , India and Brazil they swinging states better pick a side soon. I honestly think people are deluded when they talk about western power , the west has the resources to crush the entire world financial, political, weapon etc . And in my view the majority of leaders just want their coffers filled....people are pawns.

I would think Russia will outlast Ukraine. Even with the support the west is providing. Ukraine is at a disadvantage with numbers. Russia has taken thousands of their children back to Russia for adoption by Russian families. Most of the women have left and there isn't going to be much for them to return for. Many of the younger men will be in the ground. Or so traumatized by the war...

Why wouldn't the women just stay where they are and make a new start?

But you are certainly right about the west having the power.

When all the dust has settled from the nuclear winter at least those of us left alive will be able to hunt with hounds again. Ok they may be mutant hounds but better than nothing

Mean while in the states. The us national debt is $31 billion , thousands are crossing the southern border every day, 20 veterans die from suicide every day and thousands of veterans are homeless, the fentanyl epidemic , 100000 dead from drug overdose last year, kids  leaving high school barely literate , crime rampant ,etc .

Um, that's trillion... But we have just come out of an expensive and yet unfunded couple of wars and a worldwide pandemic which required a great deal of spending (apparently). Crime however has gone down, especially violent crime which dropped around 4%. Reported violent crime rate in the U.S. 2021 | Statista

Unfortunately your lot are loosing a grip on the oil dollars and are pushing for a war in an attempt to seize back control much like they did with Iraq and Libya but I think the balance has swung to far now so get ready to be surpassed by India/China etc as the worlds super powers

I think India certainly has a bright future if they can pull it off. They have a positive demographic, and they are positioned to cut off oil and other resources heading for their enemy China. If Siberian goes offline like many predict. China may be exiting the family of industrialized nations sooner than they would like. Of course, they are positioning themselves to defend shipping through that region. But with the Saudi's and the Iranians war is likely still. So, that would be it for their oil supply anyway. Unless they can actually truck enough overland. Doubtful.

For the USA you have to remember that while most of the super oil producers are or at least began in the USA. They are not an arm of our government.  They act in the best interest of their stockholders. One of which you should certainly be. So, your comment about losing control of oil money doesn't make any sense.

Oil supply alone, we are in a position to be oil independent. If we build the refineries to handle our light-sweet crude. But that is going to leave a lot of countries in the lurch. Obviously, it's going to happen sooner or later anyway.

China as a super power? I think they are as close as they ever are going to be right now. It's downhill from here on out is my prediction.
