  1. But even in jan you can get a kick up if you are that way inclined...
  2. just had a quick read of the following link, raised a few a good points.... http://littlecountrylost.blogspot.com/2008/01/benazir-bhutto-omar-shiekh-murdered.html?spref=fb
  3. £25 an hour from the moment I leave the door to the moment I land back- start charging by the mole and before long you will end up with the customer/farmer etc checking your traps to save themselves a few quid- unfortunately I speak for experience of this
  4. It must be down to beginners luck Mr Darcy... Lol. Never had a strange coloured one yet myself :/ well done
  5. Thanks for the replies everyone- he is kept on a raptor post through out the season, think a bow would of been a deffinate no, no. Anyways over the past weekend I totally enclosed his aviary and with a bit of stratigic perch placement he seems quite content- now just waiting for him to start throwing some feathers out... Hope everyones birds moult out well for them this summer- atb Adam
  6. Like the look of your pup roberto- nice and strong- just hope I'm not kicking myself this time next year!
  7. As above Ratimor fresh bait will be the product in question, for professional use only though- but the mummifying agent actually does work! Just make sure no regular baits are left down. Why not try trapping instead?
  8. Has anyone any experience with moulting a PR gos out without freelofting?if so how did you get on etc as it is looking like I'm going to have to give it a try this year... I would free loft him but the aviery backs on to a neighbours garden so even if I fully secluded him I think he would still end up trashing himself if totally left to his own devices(they spend a lot of time having BBQ's/parties etc through the summer ) He is a little bashed up from this season and I obviously want him perfect for the start of next Cheers for any replies
  9. 300 mile round trip once or twice a week throughout the season, costs us a bomb but uv gotta be in it to win it as they say...
  10. Everydog is individual-some are ready for a few easy runs/ being slipped in at 6-7 months... Easy runs where you know they will catch without over doing it- some might not be ready until later. You should know when your own pup is ready....
  11. Some it does, some it doesn't all down to the individual dog. I lamped my old bitch as much as I ran her day time, my pup won't be seeing a lamp put it that way...
  12. The plug in things are pretty much a waste of electric Carry on doin what your doing, trapping ,baiting ( what type of bait are you using) etc. Then look at proofing measures, they are getting in some where, and until this is sorted ur probably never going to cure the problem 100%. look around the outside of the property, more often than not at ground level, it could be a crack in the pointing, old air brick etc that's allowing them access to the cavity and up to the loft. You'll need to be as thorough as possible with this in order to prevent access to them, if you can fit ur little
  13. Billy bronk- where abouts on clitheroe auction sells the meat? Only ever noticed the big butchers van there? Cheers
  14. I'm 20 and was paying £650 fully comp on a td5 defender with Liverpool Victoria- lowers it a fair whack if you can add a parent / older person to your policy as a named driver
  15. How many boxes do you have available mate?
  16. Think about the cost involved in producing a book of this calibre- every photo taken by the author- coursing a full season on the fens is a bloody expensive business-we can be talking a 300 mile round trip, once, twice a week... Add to that your breakfast, a bottle of whiskey etc for the land owner... And you won't be far of a 100 quid a trip. Now consider darcy was down the fens two or three times a week with no running dog of his own just to get the pictures for this book, then add on printing, editing costs etc and ull soon realise that at £33 it's a steal...
  17. Can't wait for the book to come out... when is it actually out?
  18. Think you arnt running the right type of hares to make that comparision... then again maybe im lamping easy rabbits
  19. I cant imagine too many people taking it seriously If you do want to trap some moles for free, i could put you to work 5 days a week throughout winter?
  20. you shouldent/wont be able to get hold of ficam without being able to prove your properly trained. call in a pro, for an average house you shouldent be looking at more than £100 or so to get it sorted, saves a lot of hassel messing around yourself.
  21. i can tell you for a fact it was a shot deer..... on a piece of land his friend has the stalking rights on .... something fishy.... he is just as bent as the rest!
  22. My bitch did the same last year, the tendon was sewn back in to place on her back leg, after 4 months in a cast, a few months road walking she was back killing bunnies on the lamp. shes a 3/4 saluki and bred to run the big land, daytime, and here is where you can see the difference, she cant (not for the want of trying) run like she used to, the injury has ruined her to be honest, she cant do what she was bred for. Now she can still knock over bunnies on the lamp as good as most and wont be going anywhere. If your friend is happy with the dog being able to catch a few here and there id say
