    Beats are the 'hits' that a rabbit makes along it's run. Rabbits follow the same pattern and so all the rabbits along the run will hit in the same spot. Look for flat spots. As for permission; look for places that are clearly over run with rabbits and where you'll be doing a service as well as filling your belly - then knock some doors.

    Where ? Snareman's posts are pretty explicit about setting the snares on the beats and about what height to use. If you mean 'where' more generally then in places where you see signs of rabbits. Am I missing something ?

    Wildlife and Countryside Act Part 1 section 5, subsection 6 'But nothing in this subsection shall make lawful the use of any net for taking birds in flight or the use for taking birds on the ground of any net which is projected or propelled otherwise than by hand' Oh and the general licence references section 8 which talks about any 'cage' being big enough to stretch their wings etc.

    I've been trying to wade my way through a few literary classics lately and found this passage which I thought you might find interesting. It's from The Eustace Diamonds by Anthony Trollope, first published in 1872. It deals with the character Lizzie Eustace who is taken fox hunting for the first time.     Hang on - don't go confusing 722fps (feet per second) with 12flb (foot pound). different things To get from pellet speed to ftlbs square the speed (722x722)= 521284 Multiply by pellet weight in grains (assuming 16g) = 8340544 divided by gravitational constant (450240) = 18.52flbs So used with that pellet combination is would be fine but you should have a FAC to own it
