True Jack buddy, And it was me who said "The head is a small target and is visible, the heart is a small target and NOT visible." Si

Good post mate, If the gaffy said you can go home then what you doing on the net mate? Get out bashing some corvids with the BSA S10 LOL. Si

I use a GunTuff LRF and I find it to be brilliant. By getting a LRF you will humanely shoot much more vermin at range than without one. If you know the trajectory of your rifle and can laze the target first the vermin is in the bag every time. Si

Hi there Higham buddy, The Weihrauch HW80 rifle is a very good spring piston rifle friend designed by the Germans and now sold at the UK spec by Hull Cartridge. It was used for many, many years by the late and great John Darling, who if you didn’t know was a real legend in air rifle hunting who as sadly now passed away. The rifle is very accurate and will take vermin all day long if in a good working order. The rifle has a big chamber and so can be upgraded by a gun smith to push the power up beyond 12 FP if you process the correct FAC licence. They also respond very well

Hi there Roberto, I have owned a .22 calibre Air Arms ProSport in Walnut for about 2 months now friend and I find it to be a very accurate, smooth and one of the top of the range pieces of hunting equipment. In mine I use FX 16 grain pellets which if I remember rightly pushes out at around 11.8 FP and is pretty accurate to say the least. I have managed to get some good results with mine on small targets at pretty decent ranges. The rifle doesn’t have that much recoil due to its weight and great internals and will if matched with the right pellet produces some good results on

Just to the club pal. I am lucky enough to have a under ground custum built 50 metres range that is certified up to 9mm at my local German hunting club. I pop in there to network with the local German hunters and shoot their rifles as well as let them shoot my rifle too. Si

Im at work at the moment mate. My home router still hasnt come yet Si

Hi Alex, Yes I am really missing my R10 buddy and my HW100KT. They are both getting well looked after at my mums house and will be waiting for me to return and use them in July. I still have the ProSport here in Germany with me which is a mega rifle in its own right. I have been doing some range work with it and it is capably of shooting accurately out to 50 metres in the wind free indoor club range. I would trust myself to take live vermin with it 40 to 45 metres out side in normal conditions and 50 metres in perfect conditions. I’m just working on technique now to t

Alex, I don’t know where that thread went after I put my bit above buddy, but what you said I was meaning with my point too mate. The hard way being learning on a springer and learning to shoot correctly before taking your new skill over to a PCP. If you go straight to a PCP you will bag plenty of vermin I think but can you really shoot a recoiling rifle? Regarding my DVDs pal, The vermin on them were shot by my stunt double Si

Hi Tony buddy, Unfortunately, I am not on the camp and I have been told that I must abide by both UK and German laws, so I cannot hunt with the rifle at all mate. The German power limit for an air rifle is much lower than the UK power limit (about 7 FP) I think and the German see hunting with an air rifle as inhumane. .22 calibre rim fire is the smallest calibre that they use for rabbit and hare, unfortunately my ProSport is about 308 FP short of power LOL. It is a pain I know but rules are rules I suppose. I’m sure that I will make up for it in July if you guys manage to

What rifle have you got mate and as it been modified in anyway as you say that it is Powerful? As was said different barrels like different pellets so trial and error is the best thing but also knowing the rifle brand can also help as to give you a narrowed down choice of pellets to look at. Si

Happy PADDYs day Davy buddy Have a for me mate Si

I find that anything from 11 to 11.8 FP is ideal for shooting vermin with at full air rifle ranges. 9 FP is ample if you are only shooting at medium range and you are accurate enough to put you pellet in the kill zone. If a 11 FP rifle can kill out to 55 metres in the right hands why do you need a beast that beats that anyway? Obviously if you are in a situation where you cannot get within range of the vermin with a sub 12 FP rifle then a FAC maybe needed. But in the above thread I think we are not talking about that scenario Si

That’s the spirit Gary buddy, The bloke who banned you is probably a do gooder buddy. You know every site has them. Why spoil your meet for some do gooder. Mind ya I can side with him buddy, as when I read the really, really REALLY terrible word sh-t I feel all sick inside and wobble in my chair LOL. He needs to come to my work for a day. He will hear some swear words then LOL. Regards SI

Better luck next time mate Sometimes I get days like that and your right it is frustrating mate. You don’t know Dark Angel by any chance do you buddy? LOL. Better luck next time mate Si

Nice shooting buddy Si

you don't have to be a Marksman to tot up a large Kill ratio with these Pre Charged guns Never a true-er word spoken mate . The good thing about them is that a in experienced shot can bag plenty of medium to long range bunnies with them easy enough. I still think that learning the hard way is the correct way. Si

Nice going there Gary mate I see that you have now bonded well with your Air Arms PCP. Shame that Daryl did not get anything, but I know that his time will come soon. I sure do miss being out shooting vermin. Shame that the Germans have a different outlook on air rifles and hunting with them. The corvids around where I live, including the Magpies are just so laid back and have no fear of man at all. Every morning they squawk next to my quarter about 40 to 45 metres from my window in a big ever green tree. The will power that it takes for me not to slip the ProSp

Lads, Hats off to Davy A rabbit at 3 metres will require considerable hold over due to the scope being higher than the barrel. To allow for the barrel to be in line with the rabbits brain at that close range the barrel will need to be raised, hence hold over. If hold under was given the rabbit would of either been completely missed or it would of been hit in the bottom of the chin or neck around the throat area causing it a terrible and distressful ending. Davy was right to make his decision and I think that he is a good example for all of us . If we are not sure th

Nice shooting Davy buddy and a good choice i think with the 3 metre bunny. Si

Hi Pest, The HW57 is a good rifle in its own right mate and if in perfect working order will shoot some really good groups at 25 yards. As Andy as said the rifle will need bedding in and given time to settle down to produce its best results. I still feel though at 25 yards it will produce better results than your ¾ inch groups without being fully bedded in. Going from a PCP to a springer catches a lot of people out and they find that their accuracy as changed massively for the worst. This is due to them picking up some really bad habits when shooting a PCP, these being

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Si

LOL Tony that was really funny to read pal and I’m still laughing now mate. I am sure that there are probably many tremendous shots on this forum and especially in this section mate. I know that Festa, Marksman, Davy, Reggaeman and Wuzzy are all brilliant shots, as I have shot with 4 of them myself on my old permission, and I have seen Davy shooting on both camera and scope camera which is really hard to do and anyone who thinks shooting vermin on scope camera is easy and just like shooting with a normal scope and rifle needs to try it for themselves as its proper tricky and Davy mak

True Tony pal You know what they say though buddy don’t you? "Opinions are like bum holes, everyone has one", just a shame that some peoples opinions are outrageous and put a darkened light over us hunters. You know me mate anyway, straight to the point if it needs to be said Si
